Strategising for Home/Castle categories and formats took some thought, but I have my two templates set up. Now I just need to find time to write them! Reply #221. Mar 01 24, 6:42 PM |

It adds a whole new layer of complexity to the strategy. Reply #223. Mar 02 24, 1:31 AM |

Some of the category / format combinations are challenging in terms of trying to come up with suitable quizzes without them having a 'forced' or contrived look of a quiz shoehorned into a less than optimal format for the sake of a challenge. What I found surprising was the categories I was closest to completing were not in my most prolific categories (Music, Geo) but were in categories I only had a moderate number of quizzes (History, Sports, World). Even then I am still six quizzes minimum short of the badge requirements. Reply #224. Mar 02 24, 3:30 PM |

I find that some formats are not very friendly to some categories. I had to think long and hard to come up with an Order quiz for Animals (which went online a couple of hours ago). However, the Castle challenge is not supposed to be easy - as shown by the rather large number of prestige points it awards. The other one is definitely more accessible. Reply #225. Got mine in for the month and knocked off a couple requirements. Had no idea I'd never written a Match Quiz in Entertainment before now. Now to wait. :D Reply #226. Mar 03 24, 2:54 PM |

Hi, there. I submitted a quiz "It's All in Black and White" that AFAIK fulfilled all three requirements for the Author Gallery game, and it went online on March 23rd, but it never showed up on the Gallery as qualifying. Could someone please help me figure this out? Would be most grateful. Reply #227. Mar 25 24, 7:16 PM |

Hello, again. I double-checked: it was created from a brand-new template, too. So I'm really puzzled. Reply #228. Mar 25 24, 7:18 PM |

Was your template created in the month of March? If not, then it cannot qualify. You can check if a quiz qualifies for the current month's requirements by looking at the section labeled "Your Quiz Templates That Will Be Considered". Reply #229. Mar 25 24, 7:19 PM |

It appears that the quiz template was created in February, so it would not count for March per the game rules. Reply #230. Mar 25 24, 7:21 PM |

Oh dear, it does appear when I look in the Old Editor that I used a template created in February. I don't understand how that happened. There doesn't seem to be a title from that date. I'm perplexed. Reply #231. Mar 25 24, 8:01 PM |

I guess I somehow made a stupid mistake, though I could have sworn I was using a new template. Evidently I'm a klutz. Reply #232. Mar 25 24, 8:04 PM |

This is the first month where I'm down to the wire on getting at least an unframed painting. Being on holiday for 2 weeks hasn't helped my productivity! Reply #233. Apr 22 24, 11:47 AM |

Does a photo match quiz count as a match quiz for the purposes of the Gallery game for April? Reply #234. Apr 29 24, 4:13 PM |

IIRC it needs to specifically list Photo-Match. Reply #235. Apr 29 24, 4:32 PM |

Unfortunately, Photo Match does not count towards match quizzes. I do believe that they count as photo quizzes, when that option happens to come up. Reply #236. Apr 29 24, 9:27 PM |

You can find out for sure whether a format works by setting up a template and then checking your month's gallery page. It lists there all templates set up in the month, and which, if any, of the criteria it meets. If it doesn't work the the painting, it can still be used for something. :) Reply #237. Thanks. Turns out, Photo Match does not count for Match in the Gallery Game. That's okay, I came up with something different. And now I have another question. :-) Does the quiz need to be submitted before the new month, or is having the template created in the appropriate month sufficient? So what I mean is, for example, if I create a template for a Match quiz today, April 30, submit it May 2, and it goes online May 10, The way I read the rules, it sounds like just creating the template is enough; as long it goes online on during the month of May, the date of the submission doesn't matter. But then I wonder how this is kept track when the month changes over. Forgive me if this was explained earlier in the thread. Reply #238. Apr 30 24, 1:55 PM |

Speaking of which, it looks like in reply #217 my question was already answered. So as long as the template is created, and the quiz is submitted in a timely fashion, with enough for editing so that it goes online in May, the quiz will count. I still wonder how the system keeps track since what you see when you go to the Gallery game page is for the current month? Reply #239. Apr 30 24, 1:58 PM |

If you create the template within the month of the challenge, it needs to be online by the end of the following month to count. Your April 30 quiz must be online by May 31. You can claim the previous month from the 'Claim Last Month's Award' link on top of the picture. Reply #240. Apr 30 24, 2:21 PM |
