At the rate I'm going, about 85. My son says I'd enjoy them. I'm thinking about it. I'm thinking v-e-r-y s-l-o-w-l-y. Reply #87. Aug 22 11, 4:05 AM |

The lawyer where I used to work (retired now) gave me the first book and I was instantly hooked. I must have been about 56. I became the "old geezer" talking about the books to my grandsons. Reply #92. Feb 15 12, 6:22 PM |

I was 25. I'm looking forward to my daughters being old enough to start reading them. Reply #93. Feb 28 12, 10:42 AM |

I was 9 when I first heard it. We actually had someone come in and read a chapter or two a week to us all in my 4th grade class. This was well before the first movie came out, and no one knew how to pronounce "Hermione", since it's not a common name in the U.S. I remember our reader use to say her name like HER-me-own. I didn't read the first two books on my own until after the "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone" came out in 2001, so that would make me 10 or 11. I read both of the first two books in a week. I was 29, and I pronounced Hermione incorrectly when I was reading aloud to my daughter, just like Kaddargirl's reader did. I was hooked. So was daughter. I read the first three to her, after that she was too old for a reader so I began to read them to a blind relative instead. I never finised the series though, I need a new victim to listen to me. They are perfect read-aloud material. Reply #98. Nov 27 12, 3:01 PM |

I was about seven when I read the first book and kind of grew up with the books. I was not quite fifteen when the last came out and I remained hooked all the way through and beyond. Now that the movies have finished out, too, I'm thinking I'm due for a reread. Reply #99. Jan 04 13, 12:17 PM |
