Subject: Who is your personal hero?

Posted by: Cymruambyth
Date: Mar 28 09

From the pages of history, my heroes are Jesus (even though we have no real historical record of him), Simon de Montfort, William Wilberforce, Lady Hester Stanhope (she may have been off her nut, but she was a brilliant, independent woman), Emmeline Pankhurst and Canada's Famous Five (Henrietta Edwards, Nellie McClung, Louise McKinney, Emily Murphy and Irene Parlby), who fought for the recognition of women as persons.

Modern-day heroes - Nelson Mandela, Archbishop Desmond Tutu.

Obviously, I'm rather fond of radicals.

Yours?

No one. I've never had a 'hero'. There are people I admire but I don't see any of them as heroes. Also think the term "hero" is used for almost anyone for almost anything and therefore the term/word has little to no meaning.
