I'm finally catching up to updating this just in time for us to arrive at our penultimate destination for this tour. We'll need to make our way to the South Island of New Zealand because we're going to take a leap of faith and visit the Nevis Highwire Platform near Queenstown, one of the world's highest bungee jumps. Named after famous bungee pioneer AJ Hackett, this is a pilgrimage site for extreme adventurers looking for an adrenaline rush, and a quiz written for this site should take a risk! You could lookinto the world of extreme stunts or sports or, perhaps, you could sample some of the sights of the South Island and the Otago region. Reply #224. May 15 18, 11:03 PM |

Psst, Kyle. It's near Queenstown, not Queensland. ;) Reply #225. May 16 18, 1:04 AM |

Okay! I had already started this for Auckland, but think it will work better for the Nevis destination. I have another idea for Auckland! "Tales of the Bungee" submitted! Reply #227. May 16 18, 2:30 PM |

I don't think there are enough animals on Nevis Highwire Platform for Anna. Let's see what she designs! Reply #228. May 16 18, 2:48 PM |

I know that there are a few people looking to complete several different quizzes for sites on this tour. As we're coming to the end, I wanted to note that, just like with the last tour, there will be a period where authors should feel encouraged to keep submitting to get their quizzes out there. I'm happy to add submissions to any of the locations as they come up. The next tour will begin either at the end of June or the beginning of July. I believe there is only one revisited country. Let's aim for an unofficial end to this tour here in July, just to have something out there. I also believe I'm visiting a couple destinations on the next tour in July, so that should be fun. ;) Reply #229. May 17 18, 12:13 AM |

I am having minor surgery next week, and plan to spend the week's recuperation time getting caught up. I know what I want to write about for Golden Gate Bridge and Molokini, and have three ideas from which to select for the two New Zealand stops. One of my four for that has been used, so I will see which seem the least repetitive when I get up to them. I can do it. Reply #230. May 17 18, 2:29 AM |

I also have time off this coming week and I'm so eager to sit back and get some of this caught up. :p Reply #231. May 17 18, 3:50 AM |

For Molo'KINI' I have finished a math quiz for kids. Just wondering, How I work on such weird ideas! Huh! Reply #232. May 17 18, 7:12 AM |

I have also started a quiz for Neveda. I had picked the title, 'Reno, Reno, Reno!" that was put as an author challenge by kyle. I think he put it for Globetrot only. So I will be finishing two quizzes with a bad idea, huh! :) Reply #233. May 17 18, 7:14 AM |

Keep in mind that the content of your quiz should, in some way, relate to the locations posted. Although you've picked up 'Reno, Reno, Reno', it doesn't seem like the content of the quiz has anything to do with the state of Nevada besides naming someone in the quiz Reno. The same goes for the Molokini idea-- there's no mention of Molokini or Hawaii in your quiz at all. I wouldn't have even known it was intended for this challenge because there's no inherent link to content that relates to that place. As noted in the introduction, the quizzes submitted should be able to have a justifiable link, in the content, to the location given. The challenge is to make something that works for the location-- not to make a location work for a quiz you already have going. The goal with all of the challenges in the Lounge is to generate ideas that allow for varied content and to push people outside their comfort zones while doing so. Authors who wish to write quizzes for the same topics over and over again don't need the Lounge-- they're going to write for those topics no matter what. And I don't think the resource is being used effectively in that instance because it implies that the challenges are being used a bit backwards (even if unknowingly). A quiz title should not necessarily be bent and broken to squeeze into an existing idea-- that almost always makes for a confused quiz. Reply #234. May 17 18, 1:49 PM |
