I have submitted my Hong Kong quiz in Entertainment... While I work upon my Sci/Tech quiz, non lounge, in which Wes sent a correction note. I never thought a quiz could be rejected for TOO MUCH interesting information. I mean, the guidelines are always like, "Please write interesting information." I hope this is not considered quiz hopping. Reply #83. Apr 02 18, 10:31 AM |

We were stuck for ages in Hong Kong.. Now I believe all destinations will be declared by ten days... As there are two authors who write at a faster pace than light, presenting you the two-and-only Looney_Tunes and Ponycargirl! Encore! Reply #86. Apr 03 18, 4:33 AM |

I don't know about ten days... But it's time to leave Southeast Asia and fly to the west coast of Africa. Our next destination is the nation of Namibia! For this stop on our adventure, it's off to a county known for its desert coastline and its low, spread-out population; Namibia is one of the least-densely populated countries in the world. But that said, Namibia is a beautiful country, home to a number of indigenous groups, rolling dunes, craggy mountains, and wild animals. Maybe stop off in Walvis Bay or Windhoek or Swakopmund, and make this a stop you won't forget! Reply #87. Apr 03 18, 10:12 AM |

Angikar, he said Namibia is one of the least densely populated countries in world. Be a bit careful before pointing out anyone's mistake! Reply #90. Apr 03 18, 11:19 AM |

No-- you caught it. I edited it after the fact. I wrote up the summary as soon as I woke up. Serves me right. Reply #92. Apr 03 18, 11:45 AM |

Kyle, would 'The Gods Must be Crazy' be close enough to qualify? It is a South African film, technically set in Botswana, but in order to reach the coast he clearly must have travelled through Namibia. And the lead was played by a Namibian San. Reply #93. Apr 03 18, 3:32 PM |

Actually, I misremembered - he didn't go to the sea, but to a cliff above a river in South Africa. Namibia doesn't come into it at all, really, except for the San people living in the Kalahari, which does cover part of Namibia as well as where the film is actually set. Reply #94. And anyway, I just remembered that meerkats come from the Namib, and that is a perfect excuse for a quiz on my favorite tv commercial series ever. :) When I get home from work, I will indulge in some time visiting the clips on their website, laughing myself silly, then recovering sufficiently to write some questions. 'The Gods Must be Crazy' is the film most people remember Khosaian languages for. These languages are spoken in Namibia and Botswana. I wish somebody wrote a quiz on Taa, or Xhosa, or !Kwi in World - Languages. Reply #98. Apr 04 18, 1:49 AM |

angikar, if the Khoisan family of languages is what takes your fancy, why don't you start writing on that topic? You don't need a free template to start writing, you can write it elsewhere and put it in a template when ready. And there's plenty to discuss! Reply #99. Apr 04 18, 2:15 AM |

Rossian: "Hoping for a seemples quiz!" If that's your immediate response on seeing my title, it probably will be so for you. :) Everyone who has no idea why you posted that, however, may find it tricky. Reply #100. Apr 04 18, 3:03 AM |
