Subject: 100 Nouns (1) - COMPLETE

Posted by: trident

Hi all. Now that we have new badges for single questions, it is time for us to start a game for them to help inspire us here in the Lounge. Writing single questions is much faster than quiz writing, so we need lots of prompts...100 perhaps? This is how the game works. I will give two lists, each with 50 items. The first list will contain generic nouns that might be pretty easy to work into a question in many different ways. These would be words like clock, strawberry, or heart. The second list has much more specific words that are likely going to have to be directly about that topic (unless you can find an inventive way to make them about something else). This list would include things like Mount Kilimanjaro, Ulysses S. Grant, and barometric pressure. Some of the entries on this second list will be something you might need to research a little!

Authors must choose a word from each list, one generic and one specific, and write one question about each. Once you claim a word from a list, it is no longer available for other players to claim it. All nouns eventually have to be claimed before the series can end, so you better choose the one you want early! Once you have written your two questions and submitted them to the queue, you are free to choose two more. It might be good manners not to keep choosing too many in a row too quickly, allowing others a chance at the list. Submitting and claiming words will mostly be on the honor system. You must submit the two questions to the queue before claiming any more. I will occasionally be checking the queue to make sure authors are actually submitting questions with their chosen nouns. Happy single questioning!

Last note: After writing and submitting the questions to the queue, we would appreciate it if players could then post in the thread which category each of their questions went to. This is will allow us to verify submissions much quicker!

Just realised it probably should have been in the world category...

I guess you asked a question about consonants in some language. Yes, it will be a World question. Don't fret. Editors can move a question from one category to another if required.

Joeptez, But it does not show how many of your questions are qualified, it just shows the list of people with maximum number of such questions. :0

Joepetz's link shows the ones that have qualified for the ratings badge. There's one list for total questions and one list for questions qualified.

Hi kyle, http://www.funtrivia.com/questionpost_rated.cfm

I mean it is just showing the list of people with maximum qualified question and no where I can find how many of my questions are qualified.

You aren't wrong about that. If you have under 30 such questions, you'll need to look into your rated questions list and find submissions with the appropriate ranking and tally them up.

I'll bring up a possibility for an individual tally with Terry.

Agreed. If your concerns about your eighteen in-progress quizzes in the GT2 thread is any indication, you're probably better off for the break.

To note, my first question from this set just appeared in-game, which should indicate a wait time of four or less weeks.

A few of mine are also being played this week. So, definitely no long waits!
