I prefer if you leave a note on the clue thread, it makes it easier for me to track quizzes. Of course you can also leave one here - just make sure that you don't spoil anything when you do here. While our most famous and successful evaluator of clues of the past hasn't signed up this time, you still don't want to hand anyone else a 1 minute time on a silver platter :) Reply #41. Thanks Wes. :-) Gracious, that's the point lol! That said,I joined in to try and get my writing mojo back, maybe finish off some of the templates I've had hanging around for AGES, and so far so good :-D I even, without giving anything away, wrote in a category I usually avoid! Sprints tend to make you write in the categories you avoid. If you get more than half of them in categories you actually prefer writing for, we did something wrong in setting up :) Reply #44. Feb 29 20, 3:41 PM |

Quick questions: (1) "If a round or bonus asks for a multiple choice quiz, all questions must be multiple choice; a photo quiz meeting this requirement does of course count." This means no T/F or FITB, I gather. But if format is not stated, then some T/F or FITB would be allowed, in accordance with guidelines for the particular category? (2) "To be credited with a finishing time on this Sprint, your entries will have to contain at least one photo quiz .... You will also need to have at least one match quiz. " I gather for Team level that just one photo quiz between us and one match quiz between us would suffice? Reply #45. Mar 01 20, 11:54 AM |

(1) If the round or bonus does not stipulate any specific format, you can choose whatever you want, including mixes. (2) Yes, teams not competing under the Brace format are treated just as one player for purposes of meeting restrictions. Reply #46. Mar 01 20, 1:04 PM |

Apologies Wes, the Two Bears... are working as a Brace and will be completing both quizzes each round... separate authors of course Reply #48. Mar 01 20, 4:52 PM |

My partner finished her quiz in a shorter time than mine, so I'm stopping to take a break since my time is now irrelevant. If I turned this into a photo quiz, as now I have the luxury of time, then this would take care of a photo requirement, and then it's all done early. Reply #49. Mar 01 20, 5:39 PM |

The photo quiz (and the mandatory match quiz) has to be one that actually counts for the timer - you can't just write one as an extra. That would be too easy (and I already mentioned that part...) If your team ends up having multiple options for the photo quiz and neither of them is the best option in its round, I'll try to automatically score the best combination for you, but you have to have one in the nine that actually count towards your final time. Please remember that when you submit your quiz, you include any *relevant* information to the editor - that it is a Sprint quiz and any parameters you need to remain unchanged for it to count, but please *do not* paste or paraphrase entire task descriptions. Remember that quite a few editors do play and they want to be able to work quizzes quickly, even before writing their own. As an example, if a hypothetical task were to require that prompts be in alphabetical order on a match quiz, a good editor prompt would be "Question order must remain as is". You're stating the important part, but not exactly what the task was. Criteria the editor can't affect (such as the subject matter of your quiz), shouldn't be in the editor box at all - only mention items that the editor might actually change, such as category or title wordings. Thanks! Reply #51. Mar 04 20, 10:21 AM |

As if I would ever hint at an actual task :) My second clue is up. Good luck, and may you find out why it's called "Rivals". The hard way. Reply #54. Mar 04 20, 12:02 PM |

urgh! I can no longer submit more than one quiz at a time! nooo It must be because I haven't written any for so long :-( What happens now Wes? my second task one is ready to go but my first one is still in the queue... Reply #56. Mar 06 20, 8:59 AM |

Sorry, can't help you there. It'll be a problem of course at least for this round if you already started the second, you'll need to wait for the first one to go online. For further rounds, you can of course wait until a quiz is on before starting the next task. Reply #57. Mar 06 20, 9:09 AM |

Thanks Wes. To add insult to injury :-D I then accidentally clicked on the wrong thread and started the other timer so this round is going to be a slooow time. Never mind, I am here for the mojo so to speak and two quizzes written in five days is pretty good going so I'm happy Reply #58. Mar 06 20, 1:10 PM |

First round standings are up - still a tight field with no major breakaways. Given that some of those listed in the middle of the pack did quite well getting that pesky photo requirement done without losing much time, we can expect a close race. Of course this was merely the warmup round. You can expect more fiendish requirements down the line and then all bets are off anyway... Reply #59. Mar 06 20, 1:18 PM |

Got my mandos done on Wes' side, which is a bit surprising to be honest. Keeping my Sunday relatively free for round 3. Reply #60. Mar 06 20, 3:02 PM |
