We don't place a lot of focus, at least not in the Author's Lounge, on a part of the site that's actually quite popular despite being unorthodox. That's why we're making a concerted effort here to highlight the Brain Teasers category by looking for people who want to stretch into something a little bit tougher to craft but want something immensely rewarding.
For this challenge, we're looking for Brain Teasers across several different subcategories. The catch, however, is that we want you to think outside the box. You may not select a subcategory that you've already written in (or any of its subcategories), so if you've written a Logic Puzzle before, then you can't pick that one. You may claim one at a time, first-come-first-served, but you may pick a new one if your previous quiz goes online. Your quiz must go online in the Brain Teasers category, and not a BT/Word Play section elsewhere on the site.
Our Brain Teasers editors are all standing by, here to help anyone who could use some pointers or guidance in crafting their puzzles. We urge you to think laterally!

I'll do Fractured Words, so that means I have to do it in one of its sub-categories I haven't done it in before? Yuk - what's the easiest way to find the sub-categories I've done (I've done 130 or BTs)? Oh never mind, I'll go see for myself. Change of Plan: I've done a LOT of Fractured Quizzes - but I'm also half way through writing a quiz on Riddles I've created - would that count instead? But there doesn't appear to be a sub-category for Riddles. If it goes under Humour and Word Play, then I can't because I've done a few under that as well. So could you advise please. Update: I think I'd better stick to the Fractured please. There's one sub-category in which I haven't done one. The Riddles probably belongs to Word Play, Puns etc, so I'll finish that in November for the other challenge. Reply #27. Oct 19 20, 3:47 AM |

Oh pooh. But thanks. I withdraw from this challenge then, Kyle. I've already done Rebuses as well, and Wordwise - and no way, no how, am I doing Cryptograms or logic. I feel like I should point out that there was a separate Riddles category ( https://www.funtrivia.com/ql.cfm?cat=36) in BT (not part of wordplay) which has been closed for a long time now. So if you're planning a new "riddles" quiz, I'd suggest checking whether what you've got planned is along the lines of what's in the closed category (in which case it's unlikely to be accepted) or whether you're using the term in a different way for another type of word play that there might still be a place for somewhere in that subcategory.
