Here is the first of my crosswords for the challenge, starting with the small one: https://www.funtrivia.com/crossword/play.cfm?gid=8412 Reply #22. Jul 06 21, 4:41 PM |

Do we have to start with the small? Reply #23. Jul 06 21, 6:26 PM |

Here is my first one. (I am not superquick I just had to do all three before release as a proof of concept). https://www.funtrivia.com/crossword/play.cfm?gid=8392 Reply #25. Jul 06 21, 8:28 PM |

I'm wanting to get to this sometime soon. Two days of babysitting after getting my covid jab and my brain's on the fritz. Hopefully tomorrow's trip to the vet isn't bad news. Reply #26. Jul 06 21, 10:17 PM |

All the best, Leith. Kyle, I can't find an appropriate place to ask this question. Is it possible to get the powers that be to allow crosswords to qualify for the rainbow mini-badges? We were excluded from the kitchen ingredients till we asked, why exclude CW builders from the Rainbows? (Signed) Excluded, from Nairne. Reply #27. Jul 07 21, 12:28 AM |

I wondered why I kept ending up on a blank page, but am pleased to know it's a hiccup that will be fixed in due course, and not me wondering if I wrecked anything. (Notice I kept quiet about it until SL mentioned it) Reply #28. Jul 07 21, 6:58 AM |

Hey Windrush-- the appropriate place for that question would be the Feedback Forum. Wes and Terry often go on binges of badge releases and the first place they check is in the relevant threads there. Generally we don't tend to mix and match quizzes and crosswords for rewards because both require very different skillsets. Reply #29. Jul 07 21, 9:00 AM |

I wouldn't mind seeing something similar for Crosswords, though. (Mainly posting to test something ;) ) Reply #30. Jul 07 21, 4:33 PM |

Seeing Kyle's comment above re utilising the Feedback Forum, I'd like to draw everyone's attention to a minor change in relation to the display of crossword puzzles on authors' pages. Terry's prompt response to a request in the Feedback Forum has fixed an issue I found particularly irksome. Reply #31. Jul 07 21, 9:00 PM |

That's wonderful! I had also found it irksome, but not enough to request the change. Well done and thank you (and of course Terry!) Reply #32. Jul 07 21, 10:22 PM |

There's a problem with the template of the 15x15 crossword, and maybe the other two as well. It's not allowing me to place the answers in the squares around the edge of the template. It just says "an unexpected error has occurred" etc. It allows the same answer to be placed elsewhere in the crossword Reply #33. Jul 08 21, 12:35 AM |

I went with the age-old advice given to authors: "Write about what you know". Reply #36. Jul 08 21, 3:10 AM |

Mine are all written. Used the 'See how it looks' tab on my last crossword. Worked fine, but it now has a note on it saying 'renovate' which alarms me somewhat. Reply #37. Jul 08 21, 3:11 AM |

No need to worry about seeing 'renovate' Sue, I remember having the same 'alert' on some of my crosswords, when I had multiple grids awaiting submission. Afraid I'm unable to tell you why it appears, but it's apparently quite harmless. I'm really enjoying this challenge, now that I've been able to immerse myself in it. For the first time ever I've been enticed into compiling a large crossword, which is reward in itself. Reply #38. Jul 08 21, 4:09 AM |

It's again not letting me put in different words around the edge of my crossword. Apparently they have some kind of sexual connotation associated with them - which I've never heard of. This is ridiculous. These were words in common use LONG before anything unsavoury or racist or sexist or any other kind of "ist" became associated with them. Words like "Daffodils" - a Wordsworth poem - is Wordsworth to be banned as well? I'm seriously annoyed about this. It's ruining my crossword. I've managed to around the other NORMAL words it wouldn't accept, but Daffodils is a big word for a crossword. Political correctness is a pile of codswallop. Reply #39. Jul 08 21, 4:39 AM |
