This quiz deals with the technical aspects of photography, including cameras, lenses, film, and digital photography. A "serious amateur" should know almost all of the answers to these questions.

California Highway 1 mostly hugs the scenic Pacific Coast from south of Los Angeles to Leggett, about 200 miles north of San Francisco. This quiz follows a drive starting at roughly the mid-point, heading north.

Hokkaido is the north island of Japan, and a most interesting place. The location and climate of Hokkaido are important clues to many of the answers.

It seems as if corporate names made more sense in the old days when companies were inclined to take a name that described what they did. This quiz runs down the origins of what seem to be non-descriptive names.

The objective is to identify common objects that are described quite precisely, I hope, but in an obscure way.
