Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. The extremely zany ghosts flew above while people cried, jumped, and quaked below.

Answer: Haunted Mansion

This ride was built in 1971 in Liberty Square in the Magic Kingdom of Disney World and was an immediate hit. As visitors entered, they noted the Gothic-style manor inspired by 18th-century New England architecture. Musical crypts and a "leaky" tomb of a sea captain adorned the entrance. As visitors entered the house itself, they were warned of their imminent peril. They then hopped on a "Doom Buggy", a vehicle that glides through haunted rooms, including a library of "marble" busts whose eyes move, an endless hallway with a floating candelabra, and a stunning ballroom where ghostly dancers appear.

The visitors were then whisked away to a spirited graveyard "swinging wake" where almost 1,000 ghosts flew above while performing the iconic theme song, "Grim Grinning Ghosts".
2. Just check your brakes then zoom over to drive a qualifying loop at extremely high speeds to win.

Answer: Test Track

This ride was built in 1999 in the World Discovery section of EPCOT in Disney World. It then became the fastest ride at Walt Disney World, reaching a top speed of 65 mph/104 kph. Visitors first moved through a queue that celebrated the history and future of automotive innovation. They then boarded a "test" vehicle. The first part of the journey was developed as an indoor track where brakes are tested and LiDAR sensors introduced.

The experience then culminated in a high-speed finale: the car would burst through the pavilion doors onto an outdoor elevated track, banking around the building in a thrilling, fast paced race to the end.
3. The elevator car exits the shaft and moves horizontally through a star filled abyss then just plunges quickly down.

Answer: The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror

This ride was opened in 1994 at the end of Sunset Boulevard at Disney's Hollywood Studios in Disney World. Housed within the remains of the Hollywood Tower Hotel, the attraction's story was built upon on a mysterious 1939 incident where five guests vanished into thin air when their elevator was struck by a bolt of lightning. Once park visitors entered through the queue, they found themselves listening to a narrative by Rod Serling of "The Twilight Zone".

Visitors then were able to board a "service elevator", an autonomous, guided vehicle, that moved horizontally through the hotel's haunting corridors, including the surreal Fifth Dimension which looked like an abyss filled with stars. The experience ended for them in a series of randomized, high-speed vertical drops that actually pulled the elevator down faster than the speed of gravity.
4. The mad Yeti with an ice axe just gazed on the coaster full of brave people on the quick ride.

Answer: Expedition Everest

This ride opened in 2006 in Animal Kingdom's Asia section of Disney World. When completed that year, the ride itself stood as the tallest artificial mountain in Florida at 199 feet (60.6 m). The visitor started the ride in a very detailed queue, the "Himalayan Escapes" travel agency, which doubled as a museum about the Yeti. Once the visitor got on the coaster, the train went up and up until it reached a broken part of the track. There, it suddenly plummeted backwards in the dark.

The ride reached its climax when it passed directly beneath a massive, shadowy figure of the Yeti, a giant (25 ft/7.6m) animatronic creation. The coaster could reach speeds of 50 mph (31 kph) along the way with dizzying drops and, of course, the elusive Yeti.
5. The majestic coaster quickly looped and twirled and went flying in a dizzying black vortex.

Answer: Space Mountain

This ride opened in 1975 in Tomorrowland in Magic Kingdom at Disney World. This was the world's first roller coaster to be entirely controlled by a computer and the first to be fully enclosed. Visitors headed toward this "spaceport" and walked through a long queue dominated by stars and galaxies. They then boarded a rocket on one of two tracks.

The coaster then took off in almost complete darkness, so visitors were unaware of the next turn or drop. Meanwhile, space itself flew by in the form of stars, satellites, and black holes. In 2010, the ride added "Starry-O-Phonic Sound", featuring an exclusive musical score played through 60 speakers throughout the mountain.
6. Hold on to your jacket on an extensive quest while you fly on a glider above Tanzania, Germany, and Egypt.

Answer: Soarin' Around The World

This ride officially opened in 2005 in The Land Pavilion at EPCOT in Disney World. It was designed as a "flying theater" that used a massive, 80-foot (24 m) IMAX digital projection dome to simulate the sensation of hang-gliding across the globe. Visitors would board a glider that lifted them high into the air with their feet hanging down. The film then began and made them feel as if they were soaring over a mountain in Tanzania or a castle in Germany or pyramids in Egypt.

It was also synchronized with the feel of wind and smell of scents, such as the smell of roses over the Taj Mahal or fresh grass over the African savanna. The ride and soundtrack concluded with a thrilling glide over EPCOT itself.
7. Check and see if you're qualified for an exacting Na'vi rite of passage to jump on a white banshee and zoom through the skies.

Answer: Avatar Flight of Passage

This ride opened in 2017 as the headline attraction in the heart of Pandora - The World of Avatar at Disney's Animal Kingdom at Disney World. It was designed as a 3D flying simulator that revolved around the movies of "Avatar". Visitors began with a long walk through the Valley of Mo'ara, where they would pass bioluminescent caves and a high-tech research laboratory, complete with a life-sized Na'vi avatar floating in a gestation tank, where they were "genetically matched" to their own avatar.

When the visitors were seated in a "chair", they entered a dome that simulates a traditional Na'vi rite of passage: flying on the back of a mountain banshee. The ride aimed to make the visitors feel as if they are on a living, breathing banshee as they could also feel the air in their face and hear the unique noises of the planet.
8. You and a gang of Jedis with knives quietly move past X-wing fighers and breach the final denizen.

Answer: Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance

This ride opened in December of 2019 in the Black Spire Outpost at Hollywood Studios in Disney World. Lasting almost 18 minutes, the ride's object was to have visitors pretend to be part of the "Star Wars" series as Resistance recruits who were captured by a First Order Star Destroyer. Visitors learned this story and became immersed in the tale as they headed toward the ride.

They would then hop on a trackless droid which would take them through a battle past X-wings and AT-AT walkers, while escaping enemies, to reach the safety of the outpost with its bazaar shops and, luckily, a cantina.
9. From the boat ride, you can view a mix like purple zinnias, giant squash, and jasmine in aquaculture.

Answer: Living With The Land

This ride was built and opened on October 1, 1982, as part of the opening day attractions at EPCOT Center in Disney World. It was designed as a boat tour to celebrate the history of agriculture and the future of sustainable food production. Visitors would hop on a boat and "tour" different ecosystems like a tropical rainforest, a desert, and the American prairie.

The second part of the ride would glide visitors through a living laboratory where various greenhouses showcased aquaculture and hydroponics. Flowers and vegetables could grow in unique shared ecosystems with animals like fish and reptiles.
10. Just let the friendly guide show you zebras, oxen, okapis, cheetahs, and quite a bit more animals to view.

Answer: Kilimanjaro Safaris

Kilimanjaro Safaris opened with the rest of Disney's Animal Kingdom on April 22, 1998. This ride was built over 100 acres in the Harambe Wildlife Reserve in the park. Visitors boarded an open-sided safari truck with a knowledgeable guide and entered into the heart of the African savanna, where more than 30 species of exotic animals roamed in unique habitats that hid their protective barriers from view. There were forests with okapis and monkeys leading to the wide plains with zebras and elephants.

Visitors were excited to see the pride of lions lounging atop their rocks, which were subtly climate-controlled by Disney engineers to encourage the cats to stay visible to guests. The ride was developed so that animals could roam freely, making every ride a unique experience.
