A week after betraying Kurt Angle in the "Smackdown!" main event, Vince McMahon came to the ring and told the crowd that there was a side of Brock Lesnar they did not know. Lesnar then joined Vince in the ring and explained that his friendship with Kurt Angle was purely transactional and was now over.

As Brock described it, friendship is "the art of using someone to be successful until that person is no longer useful." He also told the crowd not to judge him and that they use their friends too. Vince went on to announce that Kurt Angle would defend the WWF Championship at "Summerslam" against Lesnar, regardless of whether he was injured.

This episode of "Smackdown!" aired a couple of weeks after "Vengeance" 2003, where A-Train attacked Stephanie McMahon during her match against Sable. At the previous "Smackdown!", Undertaker had expressed his disagreement about what happened to Vince McMahon. However, McMahon continued to put his daughter in tough situations and this time, announced that she would face A-Train at the main event match later that night.

Vince asked Stephanie if she had learned anything. She said that she learned Vince would send a 350-pound monster to the ring so Sable could get the win and that she would never quit. Vince also said that the worst investment he ever made was marrying her mother. Stephanie tried to slap him, but Brock stopped her.

A-Train, whose real name is Matt Bloom, first worked in WWF/WWE between 1999 and 2004. After a few years in different promotions, he returned to WWE in 2012 as Lord Tensai. The character wasn't that well received, as the crowd kept chanting "A-Train!" during Tensai's matches. Bloom retired in 2014 and became a trainer for WWE.

Charlie Haas and Shelton Benjamin teamed up for many years in WWE and other promotions. They named themselves the World's Greatest Tag Team, a stable that included Kurt Angle at one point. On the August 14, 2003 episode of "Smackdown!", Haas and Benjamin defended their WWE Tag Team Championships against the pair of Billy Kidman and Rey Mysterio.

This match had a lot of back-and-forth action. At one point, Kidman hit Shelton Benjamin with the "Shooting Star Press," but the referee was distracted and Benjamin managed to kick out of the pin. Haas and Benjamin ultimately retained their titles.

The referee was distracted by this, which allowed both Bashams to give Billy the "Ball And Gag" finisher. Danny pinned Billy for the quick win, and then the Bashams continued beating up Gunn until Jamie Noble stepped in.

The week before on "Smackdown!", Undertaker had made clear to Vince McMahon that he disapproved of his actions at "Vengeance" 2003 (having A-Train attack his own daughter). At that same Pay Per View, Undertaker suffered serious injuries to his ribs after his match with John Cena. Both the week before and on this one, his opponents used his injury to their advantage by targeting Undertaker's rib area.

At one point in the match between Undertaker and Big Show, referee Brian Hebner was knocked out after being accidentally struck. Then, the two superstars took the fight outside the ring as the referee was down. A-Train soon came out of nowhere and hit The Undertaker, which caused the "Dead Man" to get counted out when Big Show barely managed to get back inside the ring as the referee counted. Undertaker received medical attention from WWE's ringside trainers after the match.

Answer: Eddie Guerrero and Chris Benoit

On "Smackdown!" the week earlier, Eddie Guerrero and Chris Benoit faced each other once in a singles match, and then again in a tag team match joined by Rhyno and Tajiri, respectively. For this match on August 14, 2003, which lasted just over two minutes, Guerrero and Benoit were sitting at ringside. Tajiri got the victory when he gave Rhyno a kick to the face.

Zach Gowen wrestled for promotions like WWE and TNA. One of his legs was amputated when he was a child as he suffered from cancer. However, the Michigan-born wrestler still had a rather remarkable career in pro wrestling.

Gowen entered the ring first and removed his prosthetic leg before the match. Cena rapped a little bit before the match trying to demean Gowen and targeting him as a "waste of space". Gowen fought hard but Cena quickly got the win.

Spanky, who we later knew as Brian Kendrick, ran into the ring and immediately started going at Lesnar. Of course, Brock quickly overpowered his opponent. Not satisfied, Lesnar went out of the ring to grab a steel chair and even threatened to use it on the referee. Brock hit Spanky with the chair multiple times, causing him to bleed.

The referee rang the bell and disqualified Lesnar, but that didn't stop Lesnar from attacking Spanky some more. Mr. McMahon came down the ramp after the assault and smiled at Brock.

Answer: The Undertaker and Big Show

Sable was invited as a special guest ring announcer by Vince McMahon. Stephanie, who was the General Manager of "Smackdown!" at the time, came into the ring first. Sable then announced that the match would have no count outs so Stephanie couldn't escape. Stephanie attacked Sable before the match but was interrupted by A-Train, who quickly got control of the match once it began.

The Undertaker then came down and he and A-Train fought for a while. The Big Show came out next and pounded The Undertaker while A-Train got back in the ring. He went to the top rope and gave Stephanie a "Body Splash" for the win. After the match, Vince McMahon kissed Sable right in front of Stephanie.
