WWE "Smackdown!": October 9, 2003 Quiz

Answer: Linda McMahon

Linda McMahon, Vince McMahon's wife, came to the ring and talked about all the crazy things that happened in prior weeks regarding her family. She made it very clear that she didn't want Stephanie to wrestle her father at the "No Mercy" Pay Per View and said that she was there to talk some sense into her. Stephanie McMahon then joined her mother in the ring and told her that she wanted to wrestle Vince because she didn't want to let him win this time.

Answer: Sable

When Vince McMahon came out, Linda told him that his upcoming match at "No Mercy" was unfair. She warned that if Stephanie lost, she would resign as General Manager of "Smackdown!" She then asked Vince what he was willing to give up in the match. Vince thought about it and decided that if he lost the match, he would resign from his role as WWE Chairman.

Sable was the next person to come out and Vince introduced her to Linda. Sable then announced that she would be in Vince's corner at "No Mercy." Sable got upset at Linda and kicked her in the stomach. Stephanie then attacked Sable but Vince pulled her off and threw her down hard. Vince then gave his own daughter a clothesline, and said "she made me do it."

Answer: Tajiri

Tajiri was the reigning WWE Cruiserweight champion coming into this match. While this was a non-title match, the number one contender for the belt (Rey Mysterio) was on commentary for this bout. Mysterio was set to fight Tajiri at "No Mercy" for the championship. Tajiri quickly defeated Ultimo Dragon with a couple of "Buzzsaw Kicks" to the face.

Answer: The Undertaker

The Undertaker came into the ring displaying his intimidating chain. Chuck Palumbo was joined by two other members of the F.B.I. (Full Blooded Italians), Johnny Stamboli and Nunzio. Undertaker easily defeated Palumbo after hitting him with a "Chokeslam." The F.B.I. then started ganging up on him. Brock Lesnar also came out and started to set up the announcer's table with bad intentions.

However, the "Dead Man" fought off the F.B.I. and fended off Lesnar's steel chair assault.

Answer: Big Show

Big Show shoving a burrito into a person's face backstage was likely in response to the events of previous weeks. Eddie Guerrero had placed laxatives into burritos that Big Show ate, causing the latter man serious stomach issues. The actual match against Orlando Jordan didn't even last two minutes, and Jordan had no chance as Show "Chokeslammed" him for the win.

Answer: John Cena and Kurt Angle

John Cena and Kurt Angle were feuding at the time and were about to face each other at "No Mercy". During this episode of "Smackdown!", the two superstars had a rap battle introduced by Tazz, where they both took shots at each other. Angle followed his rhymes with an attack on Cena. Cena fought back but Angle ultimately overpowered him.

Answer: Shannon Moore v. Zach Gowen

Zach Gowen, remarkably, pursued a pro wrestling career despite having one of his legs amputated when he was young. This time, he faced Shannon Moore on "Smackdown!" Matt Hardy came in with Moore and was at the commentary table for the match. Gowen had the upper hand but when he went up to the top rope to attempt a "Moonsault," he was pushed off by Matt Hardy, which allowed Shannon to win.

Before the match, Faarooq was attacked by the Bashams and had to be helped get up. Chris Benoit and Bradshaw put up a good fight but A-Train picked up the win for his team when he gave Benoit the "Train Wreck." The APA (Acolytes Protection Agency) was a tag team made of Bradshaw and Faarooq. The team won the WWF Tag Team Championship several times.

Answer: Paul London

Paul London had the chance of a lifetime as Lesnar's WWE Championship was on the line. Lesnar said he "respected" London for coming out, only to completely destroy him in a match that lasted less than two minutes. Brock won the match by using his signature "F-5." This was London's WWE debut.

He would continue working for WWE until 2008, and in that time period, he won the WWE Tag Team Championship, the World Tag Team Championship, and the WWE Cruiserweight Championship.

Answer: Chavo Guerrero

Toward the end of the show, Chavo Guerrero called out Big Show for a match because Big Show had attacked his uncle, Eddie Guerrero. Show showed up at the top of the ramp and accepted the challenge. Then, Chavo bailed out of the ring and allowed himself to be counted out before Big Show could do anything to him.

He then motioned for someone to come out and it was Eddie driving a sewage truck. After Eddie talked to Show, he got a hose and sprayed him down with the foul-smelling contents of the truck. Show tried to stand up a couple of times but fell down each time as "Smackdown!" went off the air.
