Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
Answer:

"The Bailey School Kids" was a series of 51 main series books by Debbie Dadey and Marcia Thornton Jones as well as about a dozen spin-off series novels. The main characters were Howie, Eddie, Liza and Melody. Howie was the smart one. Eddie was the prankster. Liza was the scared one and Melody was the level-headed one. In every book, a new adult would suddenly show up in Bailey City and at least one of the four kids would suspect that adult was a mythical creature. Most often, Liza would be the one to suspect while Eddie was the least likely but it was not unusual for all four to have both doubts and suspicion.

Many of the novels take place either at Bailey Elementary or Camp Lone Wolf. Often the suspicious adult would appear in just one book but there were a few who appeared multiple times - most notably, the kids' third grade teacher Mrs. Jeepers whom they suspected of being a vampire and Mr. Jenkins, the counselor at Camp Lone Wolf who was suspected of being a werewolf. There was also Dr. Victor, a mad scientist, Frank, Dr. Victor's assistant who was suspected of being a monster created in a lab and Mr. Drake, the school's guidance counselor who was suspected of being Dracula. Many of the odd adults were faculty at Bailey Elementary or at Camp Lone Wolf and would leave town at the end of the book. There was also Carey, a spoiled rich girl in town whom the Bailey Kids did not like, especially Eddie.

Some titles were "Santa Claus Doesn't Mop Floors", where the kids investigated the school janitor who may have been Santa Claus, and "Cupid Doesn't Flip Hamburgers", where the kids investigated the school lunch lady whom they thought was Cupid casting love spells. There were non-main series books as well, including eight Super Specials where Mrs. Jeepers took her class on field trips and five holiday specials.
