Polgara found refuge with Faldor after Garion's parents were murdered. She had been protecting Garion's ancestors for several thousand years.

He is Pol's father and is actually Belgareth the sorcerer. 'Old Wolf' refers to his favourite alternative form. He transforms to a wolf in order to travel and to be unobtrusive.

Belgareth's brother sorcerer loves to offer insults. He is ugly and deformed so he ignores that fact and is sarcastic, working hard to invent elaborate insults to use. He can change into a blue banded hawk as his main alternative form. And in reality he is kind underneath his gruff exterior.

Answer: Taur Urgis

Taur Urgis was insane and feared even by those close to him. He always wore blood red armour, and was eventually killed by Cho Hagm (the king of the Algars) in a duel during the Alorn invasion of the land of the Thulls in 'Enchanters' End Game'.

He is described as the son of Taur Urgas, but in reality his father was Silk's father, making them haf-brothers. We find this out in 'King of the Murgos'. He is a weak king but learns to be stronger from Belgarion. Urgit does show his Drasnian heritage in his shrewdness and negotiating skills.

Answer: Belgarion

Belgarion (Garion) is the child of light who the prophecy proclaims is the one to face the Child of Dark . (This meeting is towards the end of "Enchanters' End Game") But he passes this on to another character in 'The Seeress of Kell', and that character stands during the choice that decides the fate of the universe.

Answer: Zakath

He is also known as Kal Zakath (Kal meaning king and god), but towards the end of the series he drops the Kal from his name after meeting real gods. When we first meet him he is a cold and calculated man. It is through his encounters with Belgarion and his companions, and especially with Cyradis, that he changes and becomes a better person.

Answer: Torek

Torek is the malformed god of Angarak. He had cracked the world using the orb of Aldur and the orb burned half his face off. He hates Belgarion even before Belgarion is born. Torek was bound in slumber until the time of the meeting with Belgarion.

Answer: Zandramas

The dark spirit moved to Zandramas after the death of Torak. She steals Balgarion's son Geran, as Geran is foretold by the dark prophecy to be the sacrifice that will allow the dark to triumph.

Answer: Eriond

Belgarion must choose which of his companions is to become the new child of light. (He is passing the torch, so to speak). He chooses Eriond as it is foretold that only one who has touched the orb of Aldur may touch the Sardion. Cyradis (the Seeress of Kell) chooses Eriond over Geran and he becomes the new god of Angarak. And the spirit of the dark is vanished forever by this choice.
