"Fletch" was a 1985 film based on the novel of the same name by Gregory McDonald. Starring Chevy Chase, the protagonist, investigative reporter Irwin "Fletch" Fletcher, often finds himself pursuing a story by having to infiltrate the people or organisations he is investigating, as a result of which he will often find himself in disguise and assuming another name. Sometimes though, in order to avoid revealing his own identity, he will on the spot take another name. This stemmed from the production of the film itself - Chevy Chase was renowned as an improviser, often making stuff up on the spot. In the scene at the start of the film, where Fletch comes across Alan Stanwyk (played by Tim Matheson) for the first time, the characters are supposed to introduce themselves to each other. Chase immediately came out with "Ted Nugent", a line that was left in the film. Another of these was in the hospital, with Fletch posing as a doctor - Chase arranged for the doctors' names on an information board to be prefixed "Rosen" (Dr Rosenbach, Dr Rosenbaum, Dr Rosenberg, Dr Rosenfield etc), from which the actor was able to riff other, more ridiculous names (Dr Rosenheit, Dr Rosenpenis, Dr Rosenrosen, Dr Rosen).
In 1989, a sequel was released named "Fletch Lives". Not based on one of Gregory McDonald's books, it was instead an original story. However, Fletch retains his penchant for pseudonyms; because the film is set in the Deep South, many of these tend to have a pair of given names, such as Billy Gene King (as opposed to the tennis player Billie Jean King), or Elmer Fudd Gantry. The names also required more use of disguises than in the original, with noses, wigs and moustaches adding to the look. "Fletch Lives" is not as well regarded as "Fletch", although the presence of Chevy Chase and his ability to improvise has seen his portrayal of the character achieve legendary status.
The remaining answers are all names of characters played by another great comedy improviser, Groucho Marx, in several of the films that he starred in alongside his brothers.
