Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. I am a Pau'an who used to be a member of the Temple Guard at the Jedi Temple on Coruscant. I became disillusioned with the Jedi Order however, and eventually began hunting Jedi for Darth Vader after Order 66. Who am I?

Answer: Grand Inquisitor

The Grand Inquisitor was a former Temple Guard who became a member of Darth Vader's Inquisitorius after the Great Purge. He was the main Force sensitive threat to Kanan Jarrus and Ezra Bridger in the first season of "Star Wars: Rebels." He was also portrayed in the series "Obi-Wan Kenobi", starring Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen.

In "Star Wars: Rebels" the Grand Inquisitor was voiced by Jason Isaacs, while in "Obi-Wan Kenobi" he was played by Rupert Friend.
2. I am the leader of Inferno Squad, who was sent to Endor to deal with the Rebellion. Unfortunately, we failed at our mission, and watched from the planet's surface as the Death Star, and all we fought for, was destroyed. Who am I?

Answer: Iden Versio

Iden Versio and Inferno Squad are dispatched after the destruction of the second Death Star to eliminate the rebels on the forest moon of Endor. Versio eventually becomes disillusioned with the Empire and its methods, and begins to fight against the Empire, including her former squad mates. Eventually, Del Meeko, another member of Inferno Squad defected from the Empire as well, and the two married. The two had a daughter, Zay, and the three of them were part of the Resistance against the First Order.

Versio's second in command, Gideon Hask, remained with the Empire, loyal to the end. As a member of the First Order, Hask tracked Meeko and Versio down. Searching for her husband, who had gone missing, Versio encounters Hask who tells her that he killed Meeko himself. He attempted to kill Zay, but Iden shot Hask first, taking a blaster shot from him as well. Her wound proved fatal, but her daughter lived on to continue the fight her parents instilled in her. Iden Versio's story is told in the single person campaign in the newest version of "Star Wars: Battlefront 2".
3. I am one of the most cunning and intelligent leaders in Palpatine's Empire. I was rescued by Imperial forces after being forced into exile by my own people. As a Chiss, I was the first non-human to graduate from the Imperial Academy. My successes in battle vaulted me to the rank of Grand Admiral very quickly. Who am I?

Answer: Thrawn

Thrawn was a member of the Expansionary Defense Fleet within the Chiss Ascendency. A brilliant military mind, Thrawn was able to identify threats before they became a problem for the Chiss. He often used pieces of art to help him identify an opponent's weaknesses. Thrawn was exiled for bending the rules of engagement set forth by the Chiss Ascendency.

After being rescued by the Empire after his exile, Thrawn became the first alien to join and graduate from the Royal Imperial Academy on Coruscant. The same intelligence he used with the Chiss served Thrawn well. He vaulted through Imperial ranks at a record pace, culminating in his promotion to Grand Admiral.

Thrawn was created by author Timothy Zahn, and first introduced in "Heir to the Empire." After the first five books with Thrawn were finished, they were considered canon for many years. Once Lucasfilm was purchased by Disney, those novels were relegated to "Star Wars: Legends." Zahn then wrote a new Thrawn trilogy centered around Thrawn's rise through Imperial ranks. The newest trilogy focuses on Thrawn's career with the Chiss Ascendency.
4. I am a native of Jelucan who joined the Empire after graduating from the Royal Imperial Academy with my best friend. Despite my reservations after the destruction of Alderaan, I remained loyal to the Empire, while he eventually turned against the Empire and joined the Rebellion. We still loved each other despite fighting on opposite sides. Who am I?

Answer: Ciena Ree

Ciena Ree was born on Jelucan, a member of a society of people that were exiled to the mountainous planet after their king was dethroned and they refused to accept the new ruler. Ciena's people were known as "First Wavers," the first group of people to colonize on Jelucan. Ciena befriended Thane Kyrell, a "Second Waver," who, along with his people, willingly chose to colonize on Jelucan. First and second wave settlers typically did not get along, so Ciena and Thane's friendship was highly controversial.

The two bonded over their love for flying, and both enrolled in the Imperial Academy. Both were selected for the Royal Imperial Academy on Coruscant for their skills. After graduation, both were assigned to different parts of the Empire; Ciena to Darth Vader's flagship, "The Devastator," and Thane to the Death Star. After the destruction of Alderaan and then the Death Star during the Battle of Yavin, Thane, who was away during the Death Star's destruction, became disillusioned with the Empire. He defected, not planning to join the Rebellion, but only wanting to escape his service to such evil.

Thane eventually joined the Rebel Alliance, after realizing just how corrupt and evil the Empire was. Ciena however, refused to leave the Empire. She was raised on the belief that her oath to the Empire was unbreakable, no matter how disillusioned she became. The two remained friends, despite fighting on opposite sides in the war. Thane and Ciena's story is told in the novel "Lost Stars" by Claudia Gray.
5. My birth name was Trilla Suduri, however, after being tortured by the Empire, I turned my back on the Jedi. I am now a member of Darth Vader's Inquisitorius. I tracked the Jedi Cal Kestis to the planet Bracca, and after he escaped, I pursued him through his journey across the galaxy. Who am I?

Answer: Second Sister

Trilla Suduri was a Jedi Padawan, apprentice to Cere Junda. During the Great Purge, Junda was captured and tortured by the Empire. Her torture revealed the location of Suduri and the Padawans hidden with her. Suduri was also taken captive and tortured. The torture and betrayal she felt from her master's weakness caused Suduri to fall to the Dark Side. She became the Second Sister in Darth Vader's Inquisitorius.

The Second Sister discovered Cal Kestis, a former Jedi and scrapper, working on the planet Bracca. After Kestis escaped, the Second Sister pursued him across the galaxy. Eventually, Kestis infiltrated the Fortress Inquisitorius on Nur, where the Second Sister engaged him once more in combat. Kestis won the fight, prompting Darth Vader himself to appear. Vader killed the Second Sister for her failure, and Kestis, along with Cere Junda, fought Vader off long enough to escape the fortress.
6. I was installed as the Imperial governor of the planet Lothal after Ryder Azadi was removed from the same role. I was responsible for the order that killed the Jedi Kanan Jarrus. Who am I?

Answer: Arihnda Pryce

Arihnda Pryce was born on Lothal to parents who ran their own mining company. She worked with her parents until eventually, the Pryce family was forced to sell their mine to the Empire. Arihnda was highly ambitious, and worked her way up the Empire's political ladder, and was granted the governorship of her home planet after Ryder Azadi was removed for refusing to act against a Rebel cell on Lothal, led by Ephraim and Mira Bridger.

Arihnda Pryce was also a key player in Grand Admiral Thrawn's rise through the Imperial military. Pryce helped Thrawn on the political side of his ascent, as Thrawn was inept on the political side of things. The two worked together against the Rebels on Lothal, led by Kanan Jarrus and Ezra Bridger. During a Rebel infiltration of the Imperial fuel depot on Lothal, Pryce ordered an AT-AT to fire on a fuel tank that Kanan Jarrus was standing on, killing the Rebel leader. Thrawn was furious with Pryce's decision, because the military and Thrawn's own plans required the fuel that had been lost from the explosion.

Pryce met her fate after Ezra Bridger returned to Lothal and led a large Rebel contingent against the Empire. Despite the Rebel's success, Pryce refused to come with the Rebels, and remained aboard the doomed Imperial station being launched into space before it self-destructed. Pryce died during the ensuing explosion, choosing to remain with the Empire to the end.
7. I led the ground assault of Echo Base on Hoth. I destroyed the shield generator with a blast from an AT-AT. Who am I?

Answer: Maximillian Veers

Maximillian Veers was an Imperial general and a member of Darth Vader's Imperial force that attacked the Rebel base on the ice planet of Hoth. When Admiral Ozzel brought the Imperials out of hyperspace too close to Hoth, allowing the Rebels to spot them and raise the energy shield to prevent an orbital strike, Veers was sent to the surface as the leader of the ground assault. Veers and his men cleared the way for Vader to infiltrate Echo Base, with Veers himself commanding the AT-AT that destroyed the shield generator.
8. TI-803 reporting in. I am the analyst aboard the Death Star that found the weakness in the exhaust port the Rebels attacked. Unfortunately, Grand Moff Tarkin didn't believe the weakness was a threat, and all of us aboard the Death Star perished when was destroyed. Who am I?

Answer: Jude Edivon

Jude Edivon was born on Bespin, and was selected for the Royal Imperial Academy on Coruscant. She became roommates with Ciena Ree, native of Jelucan, and Kendy Idele, a native of the tropical world of Iloh. After graduation from the Academy, Edivon was assigned to the Death Star with fellow classmate Thane Kyrell. After the Death Star destroyed Alderaan, Edivon began to question her allegiance to the Empire, but ultimately remained.

Jude Edivon was good with computers and was the analyst that found the weakness placed into the Death Star by Galen Erso. She said that while it was a remote possibility, the flaw could prove fatal to the station. When this information was delivered to Grand Moff Tarkin during the Rebels attack, he dismissed the threat, proving fatal to all aboard. Edivon and all on the Death Star were killed when Luke Skywalker succeeded in exploiting the weakness.

Kendy Idele eventually defected from the Empire, joining Thane Kyrell's Corona Squadron with the Rebel Alliance. Their squadron was one of the many that attacked the second Death Star, helping liberate the galaxy of that threat, and the Emperor's rule. Jude and Kendy's story plays out in the novel "Lost Stars" by Claudia Gray.
9. I was a cadet at the Royal Imperial Academy with Thrawn, who eventually became Grand Admiral. During his rise through the ranks, I was his personal aide and translator. Who am I?

Answer: Eli Vanto

Eli Vanto was a cadet that was a part of the research team that found Thrawn on the planet he had been exiled to by the Chiss. Vanto's Wild Space upbringing also gave him language skills that aided the Imperials. Both written script and Thrawn's own language skills were unknown by the rest of the Imperial squad, so Vanto became translator to Thrawn.

When Emperor Palpatine himself sent Thrawn to the Royal Imperial Academy on Coruscant, Thrawn requested that Vanto accompany him to aid in his continued learning of Galactic Basic. The two became friends, despite Vanto's career trajectory being dramatically altered. Ultimately, Vanto learned from Thrawn how to read their opponents and situations, and the two helped the Empire bring down a large Rebel cell.

After Thrawn was promoted to Grand Admiral, Thrawn knew that Vanto needed to be placed somewhere where his skills could be better used. Thrawn arranged to have Vanto join the Chiss Ascendency, to help the Chiss against external threats. Vanto accepted, and joined Ar'alani, a Chiss Admiral and good friend of Thrawn's. His disappearance from the Empire raised many questions from Vanto's squad mates, but the move proved beneficial, when the Empire and the Chiss were forced together against a common enemy.
10. I am a native of Alderaan, whose destruction did not change how I felt about the Empire. If anything, Alderaan's destruction entrenched me more on the side of the Imperials. I was a good friend of Thane Kyrell before he defected to the Rebellion. Who am I?

Answer: Nash Windrider

Nash Windrider, native of Alderaan, was a member of the Royal Imperial Academy on Coruscant. His classmates Thane Kyrell and Ciena Ree were two good friends from the outer rim world of Jelucan. Nash and Thane were roommates at the Academy, and became good friends. Their third roommate was Ved Foslo, a native of Coruscant, and a military brat, loyal to the Empire because of his father's service as an Imperial general.

Despite Alderaan's destruction by the Death Star, Nash and Ved remained with the Empire while Thane defected. Nash spiralled deeper into his loyalty to the Empire after his home planet was destroyed. He believed that ensuring the Empire's continued rule and order would be the only way to ensure that those that died on his home planet did not die in vain, but for the greater good of the galaxy. Nash and Ved's story is told alongside Thane and Ciena's in the novel "Lost Stars" by Claudia Gray.
