Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
Answer:

Born in 1991, Carlo Acutis was given only fifteen years of life on Earth before succumbing to leucemia in 2006. That time was enough for him, however, to leave a lasting impression on the word. By his dedication to faith and in a wisdom well beyond that normally exhibited by a teenager - or a typical adult - he has attracted devotion from across the world long before he was canonized in September 2025.

Quickly dubbed "the patron saint of the internet", St. Carlo Acutis' life was dedicated to the Sacrament of the Eucharist. During his short years on Earth, he built and maintained a web presence documenting miracles and other spiritually important happenings associated with the sacrament revered by Catholics as being the true body and blood of Christ and by other Christian denominations as the remembrance of Christ's sacrifice.

He was due to be canonized on April 27, 2025, but the death of Pope Francis just days before the mass was to be held delayed the final declaration of his sainthood to September 7 of the same year when the next pope, Leo XIV, canonized him along with Pier Giorgio Frassati, delivering a homily that was largely based on quotations by the newly created saints.

While he has neither been the saint youngest at death (this honor belongs to St. Jacinta Marto, died just a few weeks before she would have turned 10) nor the fastest canonization (which was St. Peter of Verona, canonized in AD 1253 a mere 337 days after his death), the short life and quick canonization of St. Carlo Acutis combined to mark a new shortest time from birth to sainthood: 34 years, 4 months and 4 days.
