Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. "Grace to you and peace be multiplied." -1 Peter 1:2

Answer: Peter

The apostle Peter wrote this in the letter that would become 1 Peter in the modern day Bible. His greeting to those scattered around the region was a common type of greeting in letters written to believers after Christ's ascension. Peter and Paul often used phrases bestowing grace and peace through Christ in the beginning of their letters.
2. "Yet if anyone suffers, let him not be ashamed." -1 Peter 4:16

Answer: Peter

Peter beseeches the believers that he wrote to in his letters to not be ashamed when they endure suffering. Jesus is quoted in scripture saying that his followers would endure suffering. Peter, being one of Jesus' closest disciples, would have known that Jesus said this. He tells the reader that by trusting in God, those sufferings will lead to glory.
3. "In the name of Jesus Christ, rise up and walk." -Acts 3:6

Answer: Peter

A man came to Peter and John asking for money. Peter answered him by saying, "Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk." The man was instantly healed, and he did indeed rise up and walk, praising God in the process.
4. "For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ." -Romans 1:16

Answer: Paul

While writing to the Romans, Paul was speaking of his own walk with Christ, for which he was famously unashamed. Paul often encouraged believers with references from his own walk in faith.
5. "For God did not call us to uncleanness, but in holiness." -1 Thessalonians 4:7

Answer: Paul

In writing to the people of Thessalonica, Paul pleads with them to be pure in their ways in order to honor Christ. He follows with the statement telling them that anyone that is not pure is not rejecting Paul's words, but God's command.
6. "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." -Philippians 4:13

Answer: Paul

This is a much-beloved verse from scripture for many Christians around the world. Followers believe that even though they have human limitations, with God, all things are possible, and if they are in his will, he will empower them to do as he asks.
7. "I have food to eat of which you do not know." -John 4:32

Answer: Jesus

This was during the time before Jesus' ministry became public knowledge. When asked by the disciples if he had eaten anything, Jesus responded, "I have food to eat of which you do not know." He was not referring to physical food, but the spiritual food that he would eventually provide his disciples and those who would follow him.
8. "Let not your heart be troubled." -John 14:1

Answer: Jesus

The phrase "Do not fear" is spoken often in the Bible. This quote by Jesus is in a similar vein. "Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me." Most Christians believe that Jesus, the Son of God, is also one with God himself, so to believe in one is to believe in the other.
9. "I am willing; be cleansed." -Matthew 8:3

Answer: Jesus

A leper came to Jesus pleading for healing. He told Jesus that he knew Jesus could heal him if he (Jesus) was willing. Jesus said to him, "I am willing; be cleansed." Jesus then laid his hand upon the leper and the disease left his body and he was cleansed.
10. "Let the little children come to me." -Mark 10:14

Answer: Jesus

While Jesus was preaching, parents brought their children to him for healing. The disciples, afraid that the children would disrupt Jesus' teaching, made to turn them away. Jesus noticed and said to the disciples, "Let the little children come to me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of God. Assuredly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God as a little child will by no means enter it."
