Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Fourteen queens entered the workroom at the start of Season 18. This season started with which classic challenge?

Answer: Design

Bringing back an old standard, this season kicked off not with the talent show and split premiere that the preceding seasons did, but instead hearkened back to the classics by putting the queens to a design challenge with unconventional materials (allegedly old props and scraps from past "Drag Race" seasons).

Although some queens excelled and others fumbled (hard), no one was eliminated off this first challenge. Instead, they had another episode and challenge (involving girl groups) to perform before the first queen was asked to sashay away.
2. The season's fourth episode, bearing a design challenge, concluded with which queen fainting on the runway during judging?

Answer: Briar Blush

With the eliminations finally underway, the queens arrived in their fourth week to find second design challenge awaiting them, this one requiring that they create outfits (in groups of two, in a 'who wore it best' format) that involved mash-ups of famous red carpet looks. While Vita VonTesse Starr seamlessly blended Katy Perry's 2019 Met Gala look with Lil' Kim's 1999 VMA's look for the win, Briar Blush and Kenya Pleaser were put in the bottom.

During the judging for this runway, Briar Blush fainted midway through her critique and was treated by onsite medics. She would recover to be placed in the bottom and would be sent home after the lip sync. It was revealed after filming that she had contracted pneumonia before arriving in the competition and it had progressed to this degree without her knowing.
3. Did this season see the return of the Rate-a-Queen system?

Answer: Yes

Episodes 5 and 6 held a big twist for the queens. While other past seasons have introduced the 'Rate-a-Queen' segment as part of the talent show in the premiere episodes, this season shifted that to a point at which the queens had already gotten to know each other. Both of these episodes saw half of the queens competing in separate talent shows with winners on both nights and a single bottom-rated queen from each. Those bottom queens would go on to lip sync for their lives on night two (Myki Meeks would beat Ciara Myst) while, interestingly, three Miami queens, all from the same drag family, would take wins based on the votes and performances.
4. When the queens encountered Snatch Game in this season, they discovered it was framed to loosely reference what other reality TV show's format?

Answer: Love Island

In episode eight, the nine remaining queens were told to bring their best impersonations for a new type of Snatch Game, specifically the 'Snatch Game of Love Island', which saw all of them split into two groups to try and woo three separate bachelors by answering question prompts. To her own surprise, Nini Coco took the win this season, playing David Attenborough, while Myki Meeks' strong Drew Barrymore and Jane Don't's Truman Capote landed them in the top.

At the bottom was Mia Starr (as Bloody Marry) and Kenya Pleaser (as Lizzo), and the former went home.
5. This season's Rusical was themed around which classic Broadway show?

Answer: Annie

Episode 9 gave the final eight queens the chance to show off their singing and dancing on the main stage, first by choosing roles in the workroom, then by recording fresh vocals for their "Annie"-inspired Rusical number, then by working with choreographers on the main stage to get their performance down. Jane Don't won this episode, doing so by presenting a boozy Ms. Hannigan character, while grandmother-granddaughter drag family duo Athena Dion and Juicy Love Dion were declared the bottom two. Juicy was left standing after an emotional lip sync, leaving seven.
6. Episode 10 contained no elimination as a result of strong design work done by all seven competing queens. This said, all of the contestants were asked 'who should go home and why'. Who did the majority choose?

Answer: Discord Addams

Episode 10 was quite the fortunate episode for all remaining competitors as they were tasked with taking materials left behind by other queens and making fashion-forward party outfits to be worn on the runway. While some queens ended up with the mother lode, others got left with scraps. Nonetheless, there was no bottom two this week as, instead, Jane Don't and Kenya Pleaser lip synced for the win (with Jane taking it).

All this said, the queens were asked who, amongst them, should be lip syncing in the bottom this round, and all of the other queens suggested Discord, who had yet to win a challenge.
7. This season's Roast was actually considered a Toast to which famous "Drag Race" alumnus?

Answer: Alyssa Edwards

Seven continued on from the tenth episode and they dove into a comedy challenge, having to write roast-esque jokes for a celebratory event commemorating Alyssa Edwards, their guest of honour for the evening, while taking jabs at the other queens and judging panel. With help from Atsuko Okatsuka, the queens honed their talents in an attempt to make the judges laugh, and Darlene Mitchell claimed her first win with an absurd approach that was less harsh and more wacky than anything.

This week, Juicy Love Dion and Kenya Pleaser were put in the bottom, and though both of them had a track record of being lip sync assassins, Kenya was eliminated this week.
8. The top six had a 'Drag Family Resemblance' makeover challenge with which of these as their subjects?

Answer: Rodeo cowboys

Supporting a niche queer community in a new way, the final six queens had to make drag daughters out of six men from the national gay rodeo scene, bringing them to the runway and impressing upon them not only the look but the attitude of their drag personas.

The win this time went to Myki Meeks who, interestingly, had a partner with a brief history of doing drag. In the bottom this time were Nini Coco and Discord Addams, the latter of whom was eliminated from the competition-- the last queen standing without a win-- to Ariana Grande's ballad "We Can't Be Friends (Wait for Your Love)".
9. Who was the winner of the "LaLaPaRuSa Smackdown" this season?

Answer: Juicy Love Dion

For the penultimate episode of the season, Ru brought back all of the eliminated queens to compete in a LaLaPaRuSa Smackdown, this time featuring all classic RuPaul songs. Although this has historically been presented as a bracket, this season's ten competitors (which would have been eleven had Briar Blush been able to compete) were divided into rounds based on their progress in the competition. What it meant was that, in the final round, Mia Starr had competed in four rounds while Juicy Love Dion completed two, setting themselves up for a rematch after their earlier Lip Sync for the Win to Zara Larsson's "Pretty Ugly".

Ru would give the $50,000 USD prize and title of Queen of She Already Done Had Herses to Juicy Love Dion, making her the third consecutive LaLaPaRuSa winner from Florida.
10. Which queen won "RuPaul's Drag Race" season 18?

Answer: Myki Meeks

Live on the main stage, the top three queens finally had the chance to showcase their strongest for a studio audience and were tasked with creating original performances to individualized personal tracks showcasing their aesthetic and abilities. After eliminating Darlene before the final lip sync, Ru had Myki and Nini perform Miley Cyrus' "Every Girl You've Ever Loved" (with Miley on the judging panel) for their shot at the win, and when the dust settled, it was Orlando queen Myki Meeks who took the crown and sceptre, the title, the $200,000 grand prize, and the make-up collaboration with Anastacia Beverly Hills Cosmetics.
