Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. This season saw fourteen new queens enter the workroom. Did all of them appear in the first episode?

Answer: No

After the first seven queens stepped into the workroom they discovered that this would be a split premiere not unlike seasons 6 and 14, where half of the cast would be introduced on day one and half on day two. Fourteen new queens was a pretty standard contestant count, hitting the norm for the majority of seasons (though season 15, a year earlier, capped out at sixteen queens, the most to date). All queens united in the workroom in time for episode three with no one having been eliminated at that point.
2. For the first three episodes, the judges did not select the bottom queens. Instead, the queens did so through which manner?

Answer: Rate-a-Queen

Perhaps inspired by the Netflix reality TV show "The Circle", the queens were told that for the first few episodes-- the first two of which were the split-cast talent shows-- the queens would be rating each other from best to worst based on their performances while the judges would sit back and watch the show (and meet the contestants).

The Rate-a-Queen gimmick continued into the season's third episode with all fourteen cast members hitting the main stage for a ball themed around mothers of all sorts.

It ended with Geneva Karr and Hershii LiqCour-Jeté voted into the bottom. Ru subsequently eliminated Hershii after the lip sync and the Rate-a-Queen process was retired.
3. Which of these teams won the Girl Groups challenge in Week 5?

Answer: Team Thicc & Stick

With twelve queens still in the running, Ru had all of them split into three teams of four who would hit the main stage with original lyrics to songs featured on her most recent album, "Black Butta". Q.D.S.M., featuring Morphine, Q, Sapphira, and Dawn got "Star Baby", Lovah Girlz had Plasma, Amanda, Xunami, and Plane Jane with "Courage to Love", and Thicc & Stick, who won as a quartet, had Mhi'ya, Geneva, Megami, and Nymphia (singing to "A.S.M.R. Lover").

After the lip sync, it was Amanda Tori Meating who was sent home, performing Icona Pop's "Emergency" in front of the duo.
4. In the 'Create-a-Doll' challenge on Week 6, which queen used an Immunity Potion to spare themselves from critiques?

Answer: Sapphira Cristál

In a season stacked with design challenges, the sixth week of the competition had the queens not only needing to create dolls, but crafting their own accompanying outfits (and outfits to clothe the doll, of course). A crash course in both design and branding, this challenges pushed a number of front-running queens out of their comfort zone including Sapphira Cristál who, after winning the first episode (and an Immunity Potion), elected to remove herself from judging and take safety in 'Untucked' rather than face the possibility of being deemed bottom two.

Many of the other queens felt she was safe. Instead, Geneva Karr was sent home by Mhi'ya Iman Le'Paige.
5. This season's Rusical was themed around what famous stage and screen production?

Answer: The Sound of Music

All said and done, it was actually 'The Sound of Rusic'. The queens doled out roles and hit the stage after learning their songs and choreo in groups of three. Though there were several stand-out roles, it was Plasma, whose Maria Von Trapp-esque 'Mariah' who won out over the others, being seen as a near-perfect lead performance.

She won her second challenge of the season (after 'RDR Live!' in week four) while Megami was sent home in a lip sync against Mhi'ya (to Miley Cyrus' "Flowers").
6. In Week 9, the queens had to design a goth-inspired look. The runway prompt was 'See You Next...what'?

Answer: Wednesday

The final eight queens hit another design hurdle in the ninth week of the competition, this time being provided with a workroom full of ooky spooky black, white, and grey fabrics necessary to make a goth look for the main stage. While Q's complex, layered outfit wowed the judges enough to get her a second win, Plasma and Mhi'ya dropped to the bottom with poorly-conceived looks only to face off against one another in a lip sync to the TikTok sped-up remix of Lady Gaga's "Bloody Mary", straight from Netflix's "Wednesday". Mhi'ya survived her third time in the bottom, sending Plasma home.
7. What happened to Plane Jane's Immunity Potion, set to expire on Week 10?

Answer: She gave it to another queen

The Immunity Potions given to Sapphira and Plane Jane in the first two episodes could only be used until the end of Week 10, and while Sapphira used hers in Week 6, Plane Jane kept hers right up until the last moment. After a challenge in which the queens had to write lyrics to the political track "Power", Plane felt confident enough to give her Immunity Potion to Nymphia Wind before judging, even though she was last to be called safe.

It didn't much matter; Ru declared everyone safe before having the top two queens lip sync for the win (and it was taken by Sapphira).
8. During Week 11, Mhi'ya Iman LePaige and Morphine Love Dion lip synced to Donna Summers' "Dim All the Lights". Partway through the song, Mhi'ya did which of the following?

Answer: Tossed her clothes on Morphine

Although most queens were able to navigate the hosting challenge in Week 11, creating drag-themed slideshows for a live audience, Mhi'ya Iman LePaige and Morphine Love Dion were considered the bottom two this week and were forced to lip sync to Donna Summers' 1979 disco track "Dim All the Lights". To the judging panel's surprise, the Miami girls had a feistier performance than anticipated, kicking off with Mhi'ya removing her dress' train and tossing it on top of Morphine partway through the performance. Ultimately, Mhi'ya was sent home during her fourth time in the bottom while Morphine's recovery kept her in the running.
9. In this season's penultimate episode, which queen won the title of 'Queen of She Already Done Had Herzes', taking home a $50,000 prize?

Answer: Morphine Love Dion

Instead of partaking in a traditional reunion episode, the eliminated queens of Season 16 were brought back to compete in a Lip Sync LaLaPaRuza Smackdown on the finale stage, going head-to-head in a randomly-generated bracket to a variety of lip sync songs with the aim of winning a $50,000 tip at the head of the field.

After a long-fought series of battles, this culminated in a lip sync to "Gonna Make You Sweat (Everybody Dance Now)" by C+C Music Factory where Morphine Love Dion, already considered a lip sync assassin, took out the surprise underdog Megami for the win.
10. Which queen was crowned the winner of "RuPaul's Drag Race" Season 16?

Answer: Nymphia Wind

On the finale stage, the top three queens faced off against one another in front of a live audience, singing and dancing to original tracks before Ru narrowed the field down to two top contenders for the crown. After Plane Jane's elimination, it came down to Nymphia Wind and Sapphira Cristál, both of whom had to Lip Sync for the win to Kylie Minogue's "Padam Padam", and after this, it was Nymphia Wind who won the crown, sceptre, year supply of Anastasia Beverly Hills cosmetics, the title of 'America's Next Drag Superstar', and $250,000 USD grand prize.
