Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. In the first episode of the show, the queens had to create outfits out of curtains in a challenge inspired by what movie?

Answer: Gone with the Wind

In the first week of the competition, twelve new drag queens got together to compete in RuPaul's race to become the next drag superstar. For their first challenge, they had to pose in a photo shoot with Mike Ruiz inspired by "Gone with the Wind" before making dresses out of curtains with unique prints.

It was ultimately 'curtains' for Shangela Laquifa Wadley who had only been performing in drag for less than half a year. Morgan McMichaels won the first challenge and only eleven were asked to stay.
2. In week two, the queens were split into teams and asked to perform which type of dance for a crowd of straight men?

Answer: Burlesque

During week two, the queens split off into groups of two to dress smutty Barbie dolls and the winners, Pandora Boxx and Sahara Davenport, were able to create teams for the next challenge-- they would be creating a burlesque performance as a group and performing it in front of their judges and a crowd of heterosexual men.

While one group performed, the other would need to try and hand out tickets for cherry pie, dressed in their burlesque drag, on the streets outside. Sahara's team was declared the winner while Nicole Paige Brooks failed to wow the judges during both her burlesque and the lipsynch-for-her-life that followed; she also earned the least money for her performance.
3. The country-themed commercial during week three forced the queens to work in teams of five to promote Disco Extra-Greasy Shortening. One member of each team had to dress up as which of these?

Answer: A chicken

This week, after a game of 'Chicken or What?' in which the queens had to eat some horrible meats, the contestants were once again split into teams, this time to learn lines and act in character for a commercial directed by Kathy Najimy for Disco Extra Greasy Shortening.

After having their scripts swapped by RuPaul, the queens were taken aback but many regained footing to make hilarious commercials; Jessica Wild and Raven were both forced to wear chicken outfits. At judging, Mystique and Raven were both the bottom two (for the second time each) and needed to lipsynch for their lives. Mystique was ultimately told to sashay away leaving nine in the race.
4. In week four, the queens needed to impersonate celebrities in RuPaul's mock-"Match Game". Which of these was not one of the celebrities used?

Answer: Ivanka Trump

This time around, the queens needed to take on a celebrity persona for the entirety of the fake "Match Game", during which Ru would host and their guest judges would be contestants. Both wit and impersonation needed to shine for the winner to prevail and, to the contestants' surprise, it was Tatianna's Britney Spears that took the cake (followed closely by Pandora Boxx's Carol Channing). During judging, Sonique's Lady Gaga impersonation got her sent home, sparing Morgan McMichaels' uninspired P!nk act.
5. In the fifth week of the race, the final eight queens needed to prepare for a wedding. Did they dress as the bride or the groom?

Answer: Both

This week, Ru informed the final eight that they would be able to have their dream wedding, but this time they would need to be wedding themselves-- their male persona and their female persona. This commenced with the queens choosing their tuxes and taking a photo, then altering wedding dresses to composite the second half of the wedding image.

These wedding dresses would be the basis of their subsequent runway judging. Despite angering many of the other queens, Tyra Sanchez won immunity this week while Morgan McMichaels and Sahara Davenport were told to lipsynch for their lives. Sahara's ballet moves and jumps propelled her into the next round, forcing Morgan to sashay away.
6. In week six, the final seven were told to sing live on the runway to RuPaul's single "Ladyboy". Their judge and vocal coach for this challenge was the lead singer of which 1980s rock band?

Answer: Berlin

When Ru met with the final seven he told them that they would need to perfect a glam rock look inspired by rock and roll as a whole and, for the first time in "Drag Race" history, they would be singing live for the judges after memorizing RuPaul's "Ladyboy". To make this work, Ru invited Berlin's lead singer, Terri Nunn, to the studio to work one-on-one with each queen.

When they took the stage in their glam garb, some unlikely participants stepped up and showed their charismatic side while others, like Jujubee, who were expected to blow the panel away, fell flat. Jessica Wild won the challenge while Jujubee lipsynched for her life against Sahara Davenport to Alannah Myles' "Black Velvet". Sahara was eliminated.
7. At the same time the final six had to promote their fake, new autobiography, they also had to mention what type of drink during an interview challenge?

Answer: Absolut Vodka

In week seven, the final six were told to take a page from Ru's book by creating their own autobiography (though this mainly consisted of creating a quippy title and cover). When this was done, however, the racers were told that they had five minutes to prepare for a satellite interview with a famous entertainment reporter and they had to promote both their book and Absolut Vodka's newest flavour, Acai Berry.

Many of the girls improvized charismatically, but some flopped, and Jessica Wild's borderline drunk, slurred interview (coupled with a horrible title) got her sent home, leaving five.
8. The final five had to makeover gay, older men to be their new drag mothers. Which was not a name given to one of them?

Answer: Gucci Prada

When the final five were met by Ru in week eight they were also introduced to five men who would become their drag mothers for the next challenge. Tatianna, the winner of the mini-challenge, got to choose who would work with which 'mother' by giving them each a makeover for the runway, giving them a new drag name, and teaching them to lipsynch to RuPaul's own song, "Main Event".

The bottom two ended up being Pandora Boxx and Jujubee, and box, whose mother, Litter Boxx, upstaged her during the performance, ended up sashaying away in a surprising elimination. Pandora would go on to be Miss Congeniality at the end of the competition.
9. Which is not one of the Diva Award ceremonies the final four had to prepare for in the penultimate week of competition?

Answer: The Diva Awards UK

For their penultimate week of competition, the final four were told that they would have to create three different looks for three different fake award shows-- one for a teen audience, one for a professional Washington D.C.-type audience, and one for a glamorous L.A. award audience.

In addition, all four needed to work together to choreograph an opening number to their Diva Awards show. Jujubee once again fell to the bottom two, but she ended up winning over Tatianna who, unlike the other queens, was cited to have progressed the least.

This left the final three for the finale.
10. Which queen became the 'Next Drag Superstar', winning the second season of "RuPaul's Drag Race" (and hyperventilating during her coronation)?

Answer: Tyra Sanchez

For the final week of the competition, the final three were informed that they would be acting in the music video for RuPaul's newest single, "Jealous of My Boogie". In addition, they would be filming a dramatic scene with RuPaul, one at a time, and then dancing together onstage in a meticulously-choreographed number and subsequent faux catfight. When all was said and done, they also had to show off their best looks for a final runway walk for Ru and the judges. After viewing the footage, Jujubee was eliminated as second runner-up while Raven and Tyra Sanchez had a final lipsynch-for-their-lives. Ultimately, Ru deemed Tyra Sanchez the winner, and after she hyperventilated for a while the crown was placed onto her head.

Tyra Sanchez received several prizes including a contract with Project Publicity, another contract and lifetime supply of Nyx Cosmetics, $25,000 cash, and an LA Eyeworks ad campaign.
