Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Bumbling Office Manager

Answer: Michael Scott

Played to absolute brilliance by the talented Steve Carell, Michael becomes more sympathetic as the show evolves. He is initially portrayed as brash, unintelligent, and completely lacking in self-awareness or people skills. However, his sensitivity and brilliance in reading people and connecting with clients show the audience how he got to manage the branch.
2. Meek, Bored receptionist

Answer: Pam Beesly

Although not the initial focus of the comic relief in the show, the quietly attractive receptionist is overlooked and sometimes bullied by the Dunder Mifflin staff. Her biggest fan is Jim Halpert, who has strong feelings for her. They eventually end up married and Pam finds her voice as the series evolves.
3. Chatty and Dramatic

Answer: Kelly Kapoor

Dunder Mifflin's customer service representative sits in the Annex with HR rep Toby, away from the other members of the team. Kelly Kapoor is in love with Ryan Howard and wants to make sure that the entire office is aware of the fact. He sometimes reciprocates her feelings, but often leads her on, breaks up with her, or hurts her in other ways.
4. Intellectual Gay Accountant

Answer: Oscar Martinez

Oscar is outed by Michael in season 3 and manages to get extra vacation weeks from Corporate, who are desperate to cover up Michael's blunder. He is considered by many to be the "smartest person in the office" due to his general knowledge and occasional holier-than-thou attitude.

He has a love-hate relationship with fellow accountant Angela Martin, who warms to him in later seasons despite initially disapproving of his lifestyle choices.
5. Paranoid Eccentric Farmer

Answer: Dwight Schrute

The "Assistant to the Regional Manager" owns a farm close to Scranton that is managed by his cousin Mose. Dwight is rude to other members of the team, but is more dedicated to his job than any other member of the team. He is also an excellent salesman; despite being enemies at the start, he forms a brilliant sales partnership with Jim Halpert.

As the show evolves, the mean-spirited pranks that Jim and Pam play on him decrease, and the three of them become best friends.
6. Human Resources Representative

Answer: Toby Flenderson

The character is heavily disliked by manager Michael Scott, usually because he tries to put a lid on Michael's eccentric ideas that may put the company in legal jeopardy. Toby was so hated by Michael that he was offered a rock as a goodbye present after Toby decides to leave for Costa Rica.

He is generally reasonable, but his calm and monotone demeanor somehow makes him unsympathetic to the other members of the team.
7. Thieving Old Timer

Answer: Creed Bratton

Creed is, for lack of a better term, a very sketchy person. He shows up late, steals office supplies, and even gets another team member reprimanded for his own mistake by falsifying documents. He is eccentric, with weird tastes and out-of-place statements that are generally ignored by his peers.
8. Arrogant MBA graduate

Answer: Ryan Howard

Starting off as a temporary worker, Ryan serves as the eyes and ears of the audience as we are introduced to the various eccentric characters of the show. He is later promoted to an executive position, replacing Jan Levinson-Gould. He does not handle the pressure well, as he falsifies business records, misleading the shareholders and leading to his arrest.

However, Michael Scott's inexplicable and unwavering love for him allows him to return to the office in later seasons.
9. Cold Cat Lover

Answer: Angela Martin

Angela is calm, cold, and heavily religious. She is manipulative and controlling, and disapproves of any alternative opinion or lifestyle that is not her own. She has an on-again, off-again affair with Dwight, despite preaching celibacy. Eventually, she becomes pregnant with Dwight's child and marries him, becoming a more sympathetic and fun-loving character.
10. Sarcastic Warehouse Foreman

Answer: Darryl Philbin

Darryl is a consummate professional who often finds himself dealing with one of Michael's unpleasant suggestions or eccentricities that compromise the safety of his staff. He is generally well-liked and respected by the other members of the team, and eventually gets promoted when he impresses Sabre's CEO, Jo, with his ideas.
