Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. After a three-year hiatus, "The Traitors (AU)" returned, but with who as host?

Answer: Gretel Kileen

At the start of this third season of Australia's "The Traitors", twenty-two celebrities were brought to Castle Claremont in New Zealand's Canterbury Region to start a game of treachery and deceit. The goal: to make it to the end to claim up to $250,000 AUD in silver bars, whether they do so as a Faithful or a Traitor.

While Rodger Corser hosted the first two seasons of the show in this region, this was the first outing for former "Big Brother Australia" host Gretel Kileen. She would take the eccentric wardrobe route that America's Alan Cumming and Canada's Karine Vanasse have been known for.
2. At the start of the game, the players had to pick one amongst them based on which superlative?

Answer: Most virtuous

As soon as the players were brought before their home for the next weeks, they were greeted by Gretel as she rose from a coffin borne by cloaked, masked figures. Introducing herself, she started the game off in earnest with a challenge; all the contestants needed to do was select the 'most virtuous' of the pack.

The group chose Shane Gould to step forward, and upon being selected, Gretel had her hand out keys to each of her fellow players. This exercise ended one key short, however, and she was left without a key but Gretel noted that since Shane was the virtuous one, it would be up to her to decide if she takes someone else's key or leaves.

She chose to take Cam Merchant's key, eliminating him from the game.
3. How many Traitors were selected at the Round Table on Day 1?

Answer: Three

After a brief Happy Hour in which the players had the time to get acquainted and comfortable, everyone was brought in to the Round Table for a sitting in which Gretel blindfolded the group and selected her Traitors. She chose three of them this season, tapping Kirby Bentley, Alvin Quah, and Alex Nation on the shoulder and setting them up for the game. That night, at the three united, cloaks donned and in secret at the Traitors' Conclave to commit their first Murder.

They would remain intact for five Round Tables.
4. In the third Mission, the group had the opportunity to re-add a player to the game. Did they choose to bring them in?

Answer: No

During the third Mission, the players were tasked with appeasing the spirits at the monolith, and to do that, they had to haul a palanquin through a mountain pass, collecting sacks along the route from six stations. The catch was that each of these stations needed them to tie two people up, making the task more difficult. And worse, they had forty minutes to do it. The people to make it back would get Shields for that evening.

At the final station, those remaining encountered a cloaked, tied up figure waiting for them, and they had the opportunity to add them into the game along with $10,000 AUD. The group elected, by majority, not to allow them back in the game, pulling back the hood to reveal Cam. As such, he stayed eliminated.
5. Instead of committing a Murder on their fourth night, the Traitors had to place how many players on Death Row?

Answer: Four

When the Traitors met in Conclave expecting to perform their third Murder, they were instead met by Gretel for an unexpected twist. On this evening, no one would be Murdered. As a replacement task, the Traitors would need to select four players, unshielded, who would go onto Death Row. This meant that for their next day, they would all be on high alert, and one of those four would be Murdered the following night. Gretel took the four selected away from the rest of the group during breakfast, using them for their next Mission.

When the fourth Mission took place, Rhys was able to secure a Shield and effectively save himself from Death Row while the other players were tasked with betting on how the Death Row players fared. The Traitors sent home Gamble at this opportunity over Claudia and Rachael, sending her off in a Viking funeral.
6. During one Mission, those who received Shields were able to sell them to add money to the prize pot. How many people took the offer?

Answer: One

At one Mission halfway through the season, the players needed to haul pieces of effigies up the side of a mountain, placing them onto pedestals for up to $26,000 AUD to the group pot. And with that in mind, Gretel offered three Shields to be given to the people whose effigies were made first, third, and twelfth. These ended up going to Krissy, Tully, and Claudia.

When the Mission was done, Gretel gave one more big twist, offering up $15,000 AUD for each Shield sold back to her. Only Krissy took the offer, the other two holding onto their safety for the night.
7. Beyond the first Traitors added to the game, only one other player became a Traitor (through Blackmail). Who was it?

Answer: Rhys

In back-to-back Round Tables, the Faithfuls took out Alvin and Alex, leaving only Kirby as an original Traitor. With this, she was given the opportunity to Blackmail one of the remaining Faithfuls, providing them the ultimatum of joining her on the side of deceit or, else, be Murdered and removed from the game. She ultimately sent this invitation to Rhys, who'd been the target vote of both previous Traitors upon their Banishments.

There were no other recruitments during this season.
8. Players were selected for a Death Match in plain sight. Where were their names listed to set them up for this competition?

Answer: On a blackboard

As soon as Rhys was brought on as Traitor, he and Kirby headed tot he Conclave to receive a note informing them that there would be no Murder that evening. Instead, two players would go head-to-head in a card game Death Match, selected by having their names written on the chalkboard in the billiards room in positions four and thirteen. If the Traitors succeeded in this task, one would live and the other would die.

Kirby and Rhys selected Josh and Luke to play the deadly game at the end of the day and Luke was subsequently Murdered.
9. Though the Dagger was used twice this season, it never resulted in a player's Banishment.

Answer: False

Mission 8 was the first opportunity in which the players were given the chance to win the Dagger, allowing its possessor to place two votes at the Round Table. This one ended up going into Luke's hands, contributing a double vote for Claudia, who was Banished as a Faithful.

While Claudia was a foregone conclusion, another came into play in the penultimate Mission when Keira used it to Banish Josh, making herself the deciding vote. He also turned out to be a Faithful.
10. At the end of the game, which faction won?

Answer: Traitor

In the final day of the competition, the last four players-- two Faithfuls and two Traitors-- completed their last Mission and their last Round Table, eliminating one last person before going into the End Game without knowing their true nature, Unanimously, the last three women Banished Rhys, two of them not knowing he was a Traitor.

At the End Game bonfire, Kirby and Keira cast one more deciding vote to eliminate Krissy, leaving original Traitor Kirby standing in the final moments. It meant that she, as a Traitor, took the entire share of $200,600 AUD in silver bars.
