Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. 'The Foreign Turnabout': What is different about the main tutorial sequence compared to the other five main sequences (and even the two "The Great Ace Attorney" sequences)?

Answer: The defense is not the one who needs the explanation.

In this case, the person who has forgotten how the mechanic (cross-examination in this case) is not the defense, but the judge, as it's been twenty-three years since anyone ever tried to do it!

Compare to all other sequences:

'First', 'Memories', 'Trump', 'Countdown': The rookie lawyer needs the explanation.

'Lost': Someone HAS forgotten and needs the refresher, but it's still the defense. (This is also the only time when asked for readiness, "Yes" or "No" is a given choice.)

'Departure' and 'Blossoming': The ACTING rookie lawyer needs the explanation.
2. 'The Foreign Turnabout': When Pees'lubn Andistan'dhin switches from his mellow persona to his angry rock one, the sound byte for his voice changes.

Answer: True

PLA's sound byte gets lower and deeper when he turns into Metal/Rock Jesus, a byte that's not heard for any other character!
3. 'The Magical Turnabout': Which de Famme twin do you meet first?

Answer: Betty

Even though Trucy calls her Bonny and she looks the part, the dialogue is a tip-off to Betty being disguised as her sister here:

Apollo: "Hey, this is Trucy we're talking about. She'll be fine."
???: "Oh, I wouldn't be so sure..."
Apollo: "Huh?"
Bonny: "Performing magic is like walking a tightrope -- there's always an element of danger. One little mistake can even cost you your life, you know. I wonder if she'll make it across today..."
Apollo: "Umm... and what do you mean by that, exactly?"
Bonny: "Hee hee. Oh, nothing! Now, if you'll excuse me..."

Compare to when they actually meet her:

Apollo: "(Oh, boy...) You've got it all wrong -- we're Trucy's lawyers. She asked us to bring the notebook to her."
Bonny: "T-Trucy's lawyers? Oh! I'm so sorry I called you thieves!"
Apollo: "If you really thought we were thieves, why were you still doing magic tricks for us?"
Bonny: "I can't help it. Whenever anybody asks, I just can't bring myself to refuse."

-----

Bonny: "I'm Trucy's biggest fan! I just love her to bits! I'd do anything to help her!"
4. 'The Magical Turnabout': Which of these is not one of Roger Retinz's many signs he will randomly hold up?

Answer: Smile for the camera!

The Ratings Rajah has three different signs he'll hold up at any given time alongside his camcorder, but "Smile for the camera!" is not one of them. (Yes, "Say something dumb!!" has two exclamation points compared to the other two that only have one!)
5. 'The Rite of Turnabout': What are the order of the phases of the Purification Rite?

Answer: Transformation, Water, Fire

As stated in the Rites Guide:
- The Purification Rite is a ceremony in three parts.
- From the perspective of the priestess:
--Purification is the reading of scripture from the priest while donning of the Lady Kee'ra robes.
--Water involves moving into the spring in order to be purified.
--Fire is for circling the sacred flames (within the lanterns).
6. 'The Rite of Turnabout': Which of the two shows' theme songs did Tahrust Inmee hear from their rebel base?

Answer: 'Steel Samurai'

Abbot Tahrust Inmee is screwed over by the fact that he heard taiko drums from the song that plays in the base. The Khura'in show, 'Plumed Punisher', does not have those drums in it that the American show, 'Steel Samurai', does.

(Fun Fact: the 'Steel Samurai' theme does NOT get any sort of polishing remix whatsoever when it plays in the case; it's just straight up the same :) )
7. 'Turnabout Storyteller': What's the nickname Bucky Whet gives to Athena?

Answer: Miz Chickadee

Nahyuta calls her a "spring chick" (without the Miss/Miz if you say it like Bucky), Simon calls her a "hen" at one point (which she asks to stop being compared to birds after that), and "baby chick" is actually from Reclaimed from Dr. Herman Crab! "Chickadee" is Bucky's go-to.
8. 'Turnabout Storyteller': The victim, Taifu Toneido, is Geiru Toneido's father.

Answer: False

This is a common misconception for some folks. Geiru's father, Uendo Toneido I (see where our current Uendo gets it from now?), died prior to the case. Taifu is simply their Shisho/master.
9. 'Turnabout Revolution': Which of the senses from the Divination Séance only showed up in this case?

Answer: Taste

Sight is ALWAYS going to appear, or you wouldn't be able to see anything!

Taste, on the other hand, only shows up once, when Inga Karkhuul Khura'in is drinking grape juice for the nerves.
10. 'Turnabout Revolution': What is a distinction that Dhurke Sahdmadhi has that Tahrust Inmee from 'Rite', Mia Fey, Gregory Edgeworth, and Magnifi Gramarye from 'Succession' do not?

Answer: Also being a defendant

No matter how you take "channeled on screen" to be, he wouldn't qualify (as Mia is the first channeled person we see, but Tahrust is the first one we see the actual process for because 3D and whatnot).

Three of the victims have been interacted with more times dead than alive (even Mia who gets some prequel cases to her name) - Gregory is the only one we play as him alive and never interact with him dead on screen, while we do not interact with Magnifi in any sense.

Dhurke and Magnifi were both "shot dead" (one self-inflicted, the other homicide).

Of these five, Dhurke is the only one considered a defendant (once "civil", once criminal). Magnifi and Tahrust are also culprits (by the game's way) and Mia and Gregory are only victims.
11. 'Turnabout Time Traveler': Does Sorin Sprocket have retrograde or anterograde amnesia?

Answer: Anterograde

He has a hard time keeping new memories, which is anterograde. Retrograde involves having a hard time keeping old ones.
12. 'Turnabout Time Traveler': What's strange about Pierce's Nichody's last testimony?

Answer: He doesn't say a word.

Let's just say that testimony's title, "Right to Remain Silent", is very literal until you start pressing him.
