Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Which of the following is a gun that the player starts their profile with and does not have to unlock?

Answer: M16

The M16 is the starter assault rifle available to players. For it being a starting weapon, the player could have had it a lot worse. The M16 is a three round burst rifle with acceptable all around stats. It can typically kill in a single burst from the chest up.
2. At what level do you unlock L96A1?

Answer: Level 27

The L96A1 boasts the highest damage in class as the game's only bolt action sniper rifle. This thing is a one shot machine, as an easy one shot to the chest and up from basically any distance.

Due to being a Steyhr-produced armament in real life, one of just two in the entire game, the L96A1 has its own, exclusive ACOG scope. As a sniper rifle, this sadly isn't useful, but it is pretty neat.
3. The previous game Treyarch was involved with, "World at War", was well-known for being the only "Call of Duty" to feature one single, fully automatic rifle. How many full-auto ARs are in this game?

Answer: Six

For those seeking a standard, full auto AR, there are a bounty of options. The Enfield, Famas, Galil, AUG, AK-47 and Commando all fit the bill. The Enfield is unlocked very early, at level 7, and is a perfectly usable choice at that.
4. "World at War" was dominated by SMGs and, to a lesser extent, semi-automatic assault rifles. How many semi-auto weapons in general exist in this game? (Note, I am talking semi auto weapons, not just rifles.)

Answer: Eleven

In all, there's the M14, FN FAL, SPAS-12, HS-10, Dragunov, WA-2000, PSG1, ASP, Makarov, M1911 and CZ75. The general viability of these eleven varies drastically, from the highly meta-relevant M14 and FN FAL down to the unusable garbage that is the ASP and Makarov.
5. How do you unlock classified weapons?

Answer: By buying entire set of weapons in the category

In each primary weapon category, the very last weapon to be unlocked has an added prerequisite: the player must have purchased and unlocked all weapons prior to the last one, or it will remain 'classified' and cannot be used.

In this game, classified weapons are the G11, HS-10, PSG1, Kiparis and Stoner 63. They were clearly intended to be the best of the best in their class. The PSG1 and Stoner 63 certainly hit the mark, and the G11 was at least very respectable and debatably one of the better ARs in the game.

With very weak damage, tiny clip sizes and a super slow reload speed, the HS-10 missed the mark for certain. The Kiparis is also not an award winner by any means, featuring terrible iron sights, middling damage and a stunted effective range.
6. You may occasionally hear someone complain about how another player is "not playing the objective". Which of the following is an objective-based mode in Multiplayer?

Answer: Domination

TDMs and Free-for-all are modes where the goal is to simply kill the enemy more than they kill you, and there's nothing more to it. In Domination, three separate flags are placed around the map. A team claims a flag's area and slowly gains points for having control over areas.

There is no direct reward for killing the enemy in this mode. So, if someone complains that you "aren't playing the objective", it may be because you have a lot of kills and assists, but have had a minimal presence trying to lock down flags.
7. This game held a unique Pro Perk system. In a nutshell, how do you unlock the Pro version of a particular perk?

Answer: Equip the given perk then complete challenges

First, the player must buy the regular version of the perk, then they must equip it. With the desired perk in hand, there will be three challenges the player must complete in order to unlock the Pro version.

For example, the Scavenger perk was by far and away the most popular perk in the entire game. To unlock its Pro version, the player must equip Scavenger, then activate its ammo-replenish effect 150 times, record five kills using grenades that Scavenger specifically replenished, then go on five 5-kill streaks. Once this is done, the Pro version is permanently available.
8. Scavenger is the most well known perk in the entire game by far, with the useful effect of replenishing the player's ammunition when they walk over a recently killed ally or enemy's corpse. The Pro version extends this utility, and will now replenish literally anything... except for one single thing. What is the only thing that even Scavenger Pro cannot replenish the player's stock of?

Answer: Willy Pete Grenades

The regular version of Scavenger cannot replenish rocket launcher ammo, while the Pro version can now do so. This makes Pro indispensible for players seeking to provide their team with anti-air support. Ordinarily, the Strela-3 and M72 Law can only fire two and one rocket, respectively, before being out of ammunition.

However, in the very description for Scavenger Pro, it specifically highlights Willy Petes as the one thing the perk will not resupply the player with. The likely reason for this is that Willy Petes are the only tactical grenades in the game which both disorient and do credible damage. The Flashbang is hard coded to never do more or less than 1 single point of damage on detonation, while Willy Pete damage can range based on how long victims stay inside the gas cloud it creates. Barring directly throwing the grenade physically at the opponent, which does 5 damage, no other tactical grenade is capable of damaging enemies.
9. How many DLC map packs are available for "Black Ops"?

Answer: Four

The "Black Ops" map packs are labeled as follows, released in order of: "First Strike", "Escalation", "Annhilation" and "Rezurrection". The latter was mainly a Zombies oriented DLC as per the title, but the former three were more geared towards Multiplayer.
10. This game was notable for only have two "small" maps, as the game at large was dominated by mid-to-longer-ranged engagements. What is the largest map in this entire game?

Answer: Array

Array narrowly edges out Kowloon and Drive-In for the largest map in the game. Historically, players typically do not enjoy large maps, as these tend to encourage camping. Array, while not immune to camping, was thankfully an exception in terms of how it was received. In fact, in terms of quality, this is very arguably a top five map in the entire game. "Black Ops 1" had some amazing maps, so that's a big claim to make.

Array is huge, but amazingly, there is not a single inch of wasted space and everything has a purpose. Plus, while there are multiple possible chokepoints and a huge tower to snipe or camp from, nothing is abusable or overpowered. Everything is down to player skill on this map, as it should be.

Plus, the aesthetic is quite iconic, for as subjective as that is. This is a snowy terrain surrounding a wide relay dish, that has a few other buildings within it.
