Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. The Night Aspect is *the* Nightlord and the grand boss of all preceding Nightlords, except for Dreglord. What is the Night Aspect's name?

Answer: Heolstor

When beginning the fight, players will simply read "The Shape of Night" attached to his health bar during first phase. When defeating first phase and moving to second, however, it will read "Heolstor" properly.
2. Like the Nightlords he presides over, Night Aspect has a title. What title is this?

Answer: The Nightlord

The associated boss health bar reads "Heolstor the Nightlord". Unlike other titles, which may take some analysis, it should be plainly clear as to this title's reasoning for existence: Heolstor is *the* Nightlord, the game's final boss.
3. Like most other Nightlords, Night Aspect does happen to have a particularly noticeable weakness. What element is most effective here?

Answer: Holy

Applying enough Holy to Night Aspect during his first and second phase will afflict a standard 'do less damage/take more damage' debuff seen in many other Nightlords when exploiting their weakness enough. During third phase, however, it will no longer be possible to apply this debuff. In all phases, he will take 20% extra damage from Holy.
4. Night Aspect's night 1 draws an assortment of Night 1 bosses from other expeditions, with one appearing to attack the player. How many different bosses can possibly appear here?

Answer: Ten

The player could find themselves dealing with one of the following: Smelter Demon, Centipede Demon, the DemiHuman Queen/Swordsmaster Duo, the Valiant Gargoyle Duo, a duo of Nights Cavalrymen, a Royal Revenant, Commander O'Neill, the Bell-Bearing Hunter, Godrick the Grafted and Gaping Dragon.

Some of these bosses can appear in the field, and if they do, they will be guaranteed to not appear during the Night. So, the player can narrow this list down by exploring Limveld and seeing what field bosses appear.
5. There are even more potential assailants that can attack the player during Night 2. Which of the following can appear on Night 2 of this expedition?

Answer: Full-Grown Fallingstar Beast

The beast is mostly the same mechanically as from "Elden Ring" with one very interesting new twist- specifically if The Guardian activates his Steel Guard ability and uses it to block the beast's charge attack, it will actually halt the beast entirely and open it up for a riposte instantaneously. Thus, teams with a Guardian player on hand can steamroll this fight with ease.
6. Starting in second phase, Night Aspect will unsheathe and bust out a legendary armament from "Elden Ring" and a generally iconic From Software franchise-wide weapon to fight players with. What does he wield here?

Answer: Darkmoon Greatsword

The Darkmoon Greatsword is this game, and "Elden Ring's", version of the Moonlight Greatsword. This is an immortalized weapon From Software has used in some aspect of nearly every single game they have ever released since the 1980s. As such, it is fairly fitting that the final boss of this whole entire game was given a weapon of such magnitude.
7. Night Aspect's Night of the Lord attack is arguably the game's most devastating attack, and is certainly one of the most visually and auditorily stimulating. It features him slowly float up high, channel some energy, before doing what?

Answer: Tearing the fabric of reality to cause a nuke

As he does this, an enormous, visible tear is cut in the world that grows alongside Night Aspect's channeling. The tear slowly begins to expel debris and all manner of energy, before Night Aspect will slam his sword on the ground and cause a cataclysmic nuking explosion which can cover the entire length of the boss room. It shoots out long, narrow tube-like crevices in the ground which, after a brief delay, will themselves explode.

Hilariously enough, The Executor is capable of parrying every single aspect of this attack with his Cursed Sword skill. He simply pulls the sword out and can harmlessly deflect the entire explosion. I'm not noting this because it's (at least, necessarily) overpowered or anything, just because it truly looks visually hilarious to watch someone calmly pull a sword out to block what is essentially an apocalyptic-esque explosion.
8. Players may be shocked to find that, in the game's lore and outside of actual combat, defeating Night Aspect will lead to the passing away of a Nightfarer. Whose story comes to an end with the defeat of Night Aspect?

Answer: The Duchess

The Night Aspect existing is, in essence, what causes the Roundtable Hold to exist outside of the Night's Tide, unpermeated by it. With the Night Aspect's defeat will also come the end of the Roundtable Hold, as it would no longer harbor a purpose with the Night being fully defeated. With the Roundtable Hold fading away, The Duchess too will come to pass as her very soul is tied to the structure itself. Thus, when the Night finally ends, so too will The Duchess' story.
9. If players want to intervene and, in the narrative, prevent the "death" of a Nightfarer, they could complete the questline of a different Nightfarer. In doing so, however, they may find that they prefer to let things be. Whose questline can be completed to prevent the passing away of a Nightfarer after Night Aspect's defeat?

Answer: The Wylder

The Wylder's Rememberance questline involves him discovering that, hidden in disguise, The Duchess is actually his long-lost sister of whom he had spent an undescribed lengthy amount of time trying to find. The Wylder discovers ahead of time that slaying the Night Aspect will bring about The Duchess' passing away. To prevent this, The Wylder can potentially earn the Primordial Nightlord's Rune through his quest, and use it to preserve the Roundtable Hold and, by association, the Duchess.

The massive drawback to this, narratively, would be causing The Wylder himself to become the next Night Aspect, which would essentially corrupt him greatly. Moreover, it would essentially defeat the purpose of going on the great big journey to get here in the first place, as it would reset the Night, install a new Nightlord, and simply allow things to play out as if the Nightfarers never did anything at all.

As such, in saving his sister, The Wylder essentially has to betray the entire group. Including his sister. Is it worth it? That is up to the player to decide, ultimately.
10. When defeating Night Aspect for the very first time, he will drop the Night of the Lord relic. What is one trait this relic conveys?

Answer: Switching Weapons Adds an Affinity Attack

During the fight, Night Aspect will randomly use one of any element in the game against the player. Relics attached to bosses in this game try to emulate the boss they're attached to, so if the player equips Night of the Lord and switches either weapon in their hand, the weapon being switched to will have a random affinity attached to it.

This pairs very nicely with the Dark Night of the Champion relic, earned by defeating Everdark Darkdift Knight. Dark Night of the Champion provides a boost to weapons with added affinity, which Night of the Lord would be constantly applying.

This strategy would benefit greatly from a third relic which enhances attack power upon accumulating three or more of a certain weapon type. The player could take this setup, grab three weapons of a particular type, then constantly switch between these three weapons when actually fighting.
