From Quiz Desperate Measures

Answer: Casino Royale

During the game, Le Chiffre's girlfriend spiked Bond's drink with digitalis, a poison that disturbs the cardiac rhythm Bond used his high-tech watch to contact his superiors, and a doctor advised him to use the defibrillator built in Bond's car. 187. What 2019 zombie film stars Bill Murray and Adam Driver as small town cops in a peaceful town?

From Quiz Zombies from Heaven

Answer: The Dead Don't Die

Pretty good cast actually. Starts off with the two cops going out to a local farmer's place, checking out a missing chicken, and along the way they notice that it's still daylight at night time and that watches and phones have stopped. Then zombies start popping up, locals are killed, pets are missing, and at the end a spaceship arrives and takes a resident away.

188. At the end of "Citizen Kane" (1940), Rosebud is revealed to be what?

From Quiz Best Movie Endings of All Time

Answer: His childhood sled

"Citizen Kane" (1941), widely hailed as the greatest film ever, opens with the death of newspaper mogul Charles Foster Kane and his dying words "rosebud". The rest of the film follows a newspaper reporter (Wiliam Allend) seeking an explanation for Kane's last words. Orson Welles plays Kane and directed the film. The film closes with workers burning Kane's personal possessions in a furnace. The last shot reveals that "rosebud" was his sled, and his last thoughts were on his childhood and a wish to return to those innocent times. Welles based "Citizen Kane" on William Randolph Hearst, and the millionaire went to great lengths to prevent the film's release. The film was nominated for nine Academy Awards, but only won for Best Screenplay (by Welles and Herman Mankiewicz). Since its release, "Citizen Kane" has regularly topped best film lists.

189. "The Montage" Which Rocky movie produced a seven minute training montage to show the difference in old school training and high tech training in Russia?

From Quiz That's So Cliché

Answer: Rocky IV

The montage in "Rocky IV" was seven minutes and forty-one seconds long. In fact, 31.9% of "Rocky IV" consists of different montages. The montage showed Rocky training for his boxing match with Ivan Drago by training outside in Russia while Ivan Drago trained inside using high tech equipment. The song "Up the Mountain" was overlaid on the Rocky/Drago montage scene. The word "montage" is a French word meaning assembly or editing. The first reported movie montage was in the 1925 movie "The Battleship Potemkin".

190. Only Sandra Bullock returned for what 1997 action sequel set on the Seabourn Legend?

From Quiz The Sequel was Terrible!

Answer: Speed 2: Cruise Control

The original "Speed", released in 1994, was a massive hit, catapulting Keanu Reeves to action stardom and featuring Sandra Bullock, Dennis Hopper, and Jeff Daniels. After the success of the original, only Bullock returned for "Speed 2: Cruise Control" in which she and he partner, aboard a cruise liner, needed to stop a plot to crash the boat into an oil tanker. The stakes are particularly interesting; in a bus that can't go below a certain speed, you can feel the speed, but on a cruise ship...? The movie suffered from a critical standpoint and cost a ton of money to shoot. It barely recouped its budget, earning less than half its predecessor's take in the box office, and received a 4% score on Rotten Tomatoes, being nominated for eight Razzies.

191. In the 1980 hit "9 To 5", three fed-up office workers smoke a joint while fantasizing about getting rid of their sexist boss. Lily Tomlin reveals exactly what type of marijuana they are about to indulge in. What type of pot is it?

From Quiz Hollyweed: Pot Smoking In The Movies

Answer: Maui Wowie

Tomlin reluctantly accepts the joint earlier in the film from her son. After smoking it, Tomlin and her two co-workers---played by Jane Fonda and Dolly Parton---get high, then get hungry, while sharing humorous fantasies about dealing with their abusive boss.

192. With only two hours before a nerve agent kills everyone in the house, eight people have to play a series of games to save their lives in what 2005 horror movie?

From Quiz Out of Time

Answer: Saw II

Following up on the simple concept of "Saw", released 2004, "Saw II" expanded the story by putting eight people into a boarded-up house and forcing them to come to terms with the problems and sins they created. With only two hours before a nerve agent killed them all (it only killed one of them), the frantic game-players faced elaborate traps while a detective (played by Donnie Wahlberg) pursued the Jigsaw Killer looking for answers. "Saw II" was followed by countless sequels. Director Darren Lynn Bousman would go on to direct "Repo! The Genetic Opera" and the "Mother's Day" remake.

193. Tyra Banks has appeared in a variety of films since 1995. In what 2002 animated picture does she have the unusual role of Victoria's Secret Gown?

194. This actress kicked some alien butt before portraying an autistic woman who made cakes out of snow. Who's this actress?

From Quiz Autism and the Movies

Answer: Sigourney Weaver

"Snow Cake" is a charming Canadian/British movie starring Alan Rickman, Carrie-Ann Moss and Sigourney Weaver. Weaver plays an autistic woman named Linda who meets Rickman's character named Alex after Linda's daughter is killed. Linda has difficulty in social situations and is manic about cleanliness. She asks Alex to stick around so that he can take garbage out for her on garbage day and while he is there, he develops a relationship with Linda's neighbor, Maggie (played by Carrie-Ann Moss). Linda does not like Maggie at all but by the end of the movie, has asked Maggie to help take her garbage out, a sign that she has accepted her. Both Weaver and Rickman were nominated for their acting at the Seattle International Film Festival and the film was nominated for several Genie Awards.

195. A 2007 adult animated film shares its name with which ancient Persian capital destroyed by Alexander the Great?

From Quiz Absolutely Not For Children

Answer: Persepolis

"Persepolis" is a coming-of-age French-Iranian-American film based on a graphic novel by Marjane Satrapi. Satrapi wrote and directed alongside Vincent Paronnaud. Stunning black-and-white animation accentuates the gritty autobiographical subject matter and pays homage to the stark imagery of original graphic novels. The story follows a young girl growing up in the context of the Iranian Revolution."Persepolis" was lauded by critics and received an Academy Award nomination for Best Animated Feature. The ancient city of Persepolis burned after Alexander the Great authorized pillaging by his occupying army. It is unclear whether the fire was an accident or a deliberate act of revenge for the earlier burning of the Athenian Parthenon.

196. In the narrated epilogue of "The Sandlot", which characters became pioneers in bungee jumping?

From Quiz Epilogues: What Happened to That Guy?

Answer: Timmy and Tommy Timmons

The now-adult Scott Smalls (Arliss Howard) narrates the entire film. During the film, newly-arrived neighborhood kid, Scott Smalls (Tom Guiry) uses his stepdad's Babe Ruth autographed baseball in a sandlot game. Most of the rest of the film shows the boys trying to retrieve the ball (which, ironically, was Smalls' first homerun). Timmy and Tommy both search for ways to reach the ball without actually stepping foot in the yard (there is a giant "gorilla-dog thing" that lives back there). Their first attempts were pretty basic. They kept failing at getting the ball back, but they did invent something that resembled bungee jumping - a harness tied with ropes in the back. When the epilogue says they were pioneers, Scott says they all knew why.

197. Which movie featured the song "Ride of the Valkyries" by composer Richard Wagner?

From Quiz Iconic Movie Songs

Answer: Apocalypse Now

"Ride of the Valkyries" is what Lt Col Bill Kilgore (Robert Duvall) had playing from loudspeakers on their attack helicopters. This is also the "I love the smell of napalm in the morning" scene. Captain Willard (Martin Sheen) meets Kilgore while making his way up the Mekong River. He is in search of Colonel Kurtz (Marlon Brando). Willard is tasked with assassinating Kurtz.

198. Which classic movie musical displays the difficulties in coping with technological changes in an evolving industry?

From Quiz Movies That Provide Business Lessons

Answer: Singin' in the Rain

In "Singin' In The Rain", Don Lockwood (Gene Kelly) is the star of a silent movie being made called "The Dueling Cavalier". When "The Jazz Singer" proves to be a big hit, the producers decide to convert "The Dueling Cavalier" from a silent picture to a talkie. The transition is not easy one everyone. Particularly funny is when Don's leading lady, Lina Lamont (Jean Hagen) is unable to deal with the technical task of addressing her lines to the hidden microphone in a flower arrangement on a table. So in part, the film gives us a humorous look at how a business might have to learn new techniques when working with updated technologies.

199. Hugh Jackman grew a beard that was almost as epic as the claws he had for his character, Logan. Which film featured this epic beard?

From Quiz Epic Movie Beards

Answer: X-Men

Hugh Jackman played the role of Wolverine, also known as Logan, for the 2000 film "X-Men". He then reprised his role eight times, well, nine if you count using past footage, and set a record for the longest role as a superhero. That's right, 18 years of playing the same character! For a role this epic, one must have an epic beard. No moustache, just mutton chops and a lumberjack-type rugged appeal to go along with the role. The original "X-Men" movie was released in the year 2000. It depicted the struggle between Professor Xavier's X-Men and Magneto's mutants and showed the history of each of these powerful characters. The film was widely successful and spawned an entire film series with ties to the comic book characters.

200. In which movie did Cuba Gooding Jr. play a man who drove a bus full of people dressed like Lucille Ball from "I Love Lucy"?

From Quiz Zone of Movies

Answer: Rat Race

The movie "Rat Race" involved several people in Las Vegas who were given keys to a locker in another town and told that the locker held money. Whoever got there first could keep the money. Several wealthy people made bets to see who would get there first. One of the people racing was stranded in the desert by an angry cab driver. The man replaced a bus driver who was taking a bus load of Lucille Ball impersonators to a convention.

201. "The Endless Summer," a 1966 documentary filmed in locations around the world including Tahiti, West Africa, and Australia, is about what sport?

From Quiz Summer Is I'Cumen In

Answer: Surfing

Produced and directed by Bruce Brown, the film follows two surfers,Mike Hynson and Robert August, as they travel around the beaches of the world in a quest for new places to surf. The two surfers are native to California, the waters of which become too cold for surfing in winter. The concept expressed in the film's title is to follow summer weather around the world, going back and forth between the Northern and Southern Hemispheres as the weather changes, to experience unending summer days. The film received positive reviews, helped popularize the sport of surfing around the world, and inspired a "surf and travel" subculture.

202. "Seriously, they all look VERY well fed..." is a criticism levelled by the Honest Trailer voiceover man at cast members of which 2012 movie, "...in a dystopian future (where) the rich dress like second-rate Lady Gagas..."?

From Quiz Screen Junkies Go to the Movies: Honest Trailers

Answer: The Hunger Games

This early Honest Trailer claims that 'The Hunger Games' is poorly directed and highlights 'unnecessary shaky-cam', plot anomalies, important instances in which the film diverges from the novel and Jennifer Lawrence's curiously blank and emotion-free style of delivery, as well as mocking the likelihood of cake-frosting skills ever proving to be a potential asset in any child-killing arena of death. A surprisingly robust and rosy-cheeked cast munches its way through proceedings.

203. In 1996 Pam Ferris played Miss Trunchbull, the principal who loved to inflict original punishments on students aged less than twelve years. What was the name of the movie?

From Quiz School Days of Set Squares, Compasses and Rulers

Answer: Matilda

The movie was of course "Matilda", based upon the eponymous novel by Roald Dahl. When one of the boys in Matilda's class stole a piece of chocolate cake, Miss Trunchbull had him devour a very large cake. In this movie Matilda was one of the children attending school, and after several unjust punishments by Miss Trunchbull, Matilda used her telekinetic powers to revolt. Mara Wilson, aged nine, played the title role. The red herrings don't have a direct link to school days. "Marie Antoinette" (2006) was a costume drama about the Austrian girl who married the French king Louis XVI. In "Julie" (1956) Doris Day played a wife trying to flee from her violent husband. And "Agatha" (1979) was a fictional account of the few days the Queen of Crime (Agatha Christie) disappeared without a trace.

204. Jack Nicholson is the one asking tough questions in "Chinatown" (1974). What painful truth does he get Evelyn Mulwray (Faye Dunaway) to admit?

From Quiz You Can't Handle The Truth

Answer: That her daughter is the product of incest

In a remarkable scene, Jake Gittes (Nicholson) confronts Mulwray until she confesses "She's my sister, she's my daughter.... she's my sister AND my daughter." Mulwray's father, the powerful businessman Noah Cross, had raped her when she was 15. Gittes attempts to help Evelyn and her daughter escape, but Evelyn is gunned down by the police after she shoots her father. In both the case of the Mulwray murder and illegal land deals, that would be Noah Cross who has responsible. "Chinatown" won the Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay for Robert Towne, and the film is widely regarded as one of the greatest screenplays of all time.

205. Jack Nicholson and Helen Hunt won the Best Actor and Best Actress awards respectively for which film that they starred in together?

From Quiz Yin to My Yang

Answer: As Good As It Gets

In "As Good As It Gets", Nicholson plays a writer with obsessive-compulsive disorder, who starts an unlikely friendship with the waitress played by Hunt. This was the first film to win both Best Actor and Best Actress since "The Silence of the Lambs". The film also stars Greg Kinnear, Skeet Ulrich and Cuba Gooding Jr.

206. Below are four Mel Gibson movies featuring battles against the odds but which one, that tells the story of Benjamin Martin, is based on a fictional character and not a historical one?

From Quiz A Blaze of Glory

Answer: The Patriot

"The Patriot" (2000) is set during the American Revolution and tells the fictional story of how the war affected the Martin family. Benjamin Martin is a veteran of the French and Indian War who wants nothing to do with the Revolution but gets drawn into it when his oldest son (played by Heath Ledger) joins the colonist cause. Although fictional, the story remains true to the time period and the events of the American Revolution as seen in South Carolina. Mel played Benjamin Martin. The movie highlights the guerilla tactics used in the American South during the war in which a smaller force is able to keep a larger force engaged. "Braveheart" (1995) is based on the historical character William Wallace and the First War of Scottish Independence. Although the movie's historical accuracy has been questioned, it still revolves around true historical characters and events. Mel played William Wallace and directed the movie. The movie features the historic Battles of Stirling Bridge and Falkirk in which the Scots were outnumbered both times. They won the first but lost the second. "We Were Soldiers" (2002) is based on the book "We Were Soldiers Once... And Young" by Lieutenant General (Ret.) Hal Moore and reporter Joseph L. Galloway. Although only a medic, Doss won the Congressional Medal of Honor for rescuing 75 soldiers at Hacksaw Ridge. Mel directed the movie. The climactic events of the movie take place during the Battle for Okinawa at a place called the Maeda Escarpment aka Hacksaw Ridge. The Marines are driven off the ridge by a massive and overwhelming Japanese counter-attack but eventually regain the lost ground with a counter-attack of their own. In the third of seven "Road to..." movies, Orville and Jeff (Bob and Bing) are sitting on the ground discussing Orville's Aunt Lucy (also Bob Hope), when a camel on the other side of a hedge begins to "kiss" each on the cheek in turn. The boys each think the other is getting fresh, until eventually they turn and see the camel. As they stand to confront the beast, the camel spits in Bob's face much to Bing's delight.
