It was announced October 26, 1993 that Charlotte would get the 29th NFL team and 5 weeks later, on November 30, Jacksonville were awarded the 30th. Oddly enough, by 1997 St. Louis had a team (Rams moved from Los Angeles in 1995), Baltimore had a team (Cleveland Browns moved in 1996) and Nashville, Tennessee had a team (Oilers moved from Houston in 1997).
