From Quiz ""The Amazing Race Canada 7" [1]"

Amazing Race Canada 7 Trivia Questions

1. In the first leg of the race, one ream member completed a Road Block in British Columbia. In what city did the other team member also complete a Road Block task?

From Quiz
Road Blocks of "The Amazing Race Canada 7"

Answer: Toronto

The first leg of the race sent teams from the start line in Toronto all the way across the country to Kamloops, British Columbia, so while one team member was asked to head to a Toronto recording studio to work on the trailer for the 2019 live action Disney film "The Lion King", the other team member had to pursue a more adrenaline-spiking task by ziplining 1,000 feet across the open pit Ajax Mine. The team member who completed the first task was not eligible to complete the second, meaning that by the end of the first leg of the race, all racers had completed one Road Block task.

2. During Leg 2's 'Plant' Detour option, teams had to plant how many seedlings in a British Columbian forest?

From Quiz Detours of "The Amazing Race Canada 7"

Answer: Forty

The first Detour of the race took nine teams to Revelstoke, British Columbia's rugged and untamed wilderness where they could choose between 'Plant' and 'Paddle'. In 'Plant', they headed to a forest reserve where they had to properly plant forty seedlings as per the instructions provided, spacing them out enough and planting them just right for optimal growth in the forest. Dave and Irina, Anthony and James, Trish and Amy, Nicki and Aisha, and Lauren and Joanne completed this task. Meanwhile, teams choosing 'Paddle' had to head to Williamson Lake to jointly paddle two kayaks tied bow-to-stern and stern-to-bow, maneuvering to collect five flags from around the body of water. Said teams included Meaghan and Marie, Gilles and Sean, Aarthy and Thinesh, and Sarah and Sam.

3. Starting Leg 10, teams returned to what earlier-visited city?

From Quiz "The Amazing Race Canada 7" [5]

Answer: Toronto

At the end of Leg 9, all teams were given another clue and told to keep on racing despite spending an entire leg hustling through the Charlevoix region of Quebec. To begin, they had to hop on trains and make their way back to the city of Toronto, Ontario, a city they visited in the seventh leg (briefly) and make their way to the Royal Ontario Museum. Upon reaching the ROM, the teams needed to look for ten objects from the museum's permanent collection and collect a stamp from each one. When combined, the stamps would spell out the name of their next destination: Thunder Bay.

4. In Leg 7, teams headed to a mystery destination in Ontario. Where did they end up?

From Quiz "The Amazing Race Canada 7" [4]

Answer: Kitchener-Waterloo

Starting Leg 7 in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan early in the morning, teams were told to fly back to Toronto, Ontario, where the race began, and make their way through the airport. There, they had to board one of two blacked-out buses that would take them to their mystery destination: Kitchener-Waterloo, Ontario, west of the provincial capital. Upon arriving, teams had to go to TheMuseum and find the SPECTRUM exhibition area. There, one at a time, team members needed to hop into a green ball pit containing 30,000 green balls. When they obtained one of twelve red or yellow balls they could get their next clue.

5. In Leg 5, teams returned to what earlier-seen province?

From Quiz "The Amazing Race Canada 7" [3]

Answer: British Columbia

Seven teams started the fifth leg of the race on the streets of Yellowknife, British Columbia and opened their first clue informing them that they would need to fly back to British Columbia, this time flying through Vancouver's Harbour Air Terminal to the city of Nanaimo on the coast of Vancouver Island. Four seaplanes allowed two teams at a time to travel to Nanaimo fifteen minutes apart. Upon arriving, teams needed to hop into a Chevrolet Camaro and drive themselves to Petroglyph Provincial Park to find their next clue.

6. At the start of Leg 3, teams flew to what Alberta city?

From Quiz "The Amazing Race Canada 7" [2]

Answer: Edmonton

At the start of Leg 3, teams were told to fly to Edmonton, Alberta, but to do that they needed to descend from the Pit Stop atop Mount McKenzie in Revelstoke, British Columbia, drive themselves to Kelowna Airport, and sign up for one of two flights across the provincial border. Two teams were on the first flight and six were on the second, departing two and a half hours later than the first flight. Interestingly, teams were also told of a new race mechanic called the Double One-Way which would appear for the first time in this leg. Upon landing in Edmonton, teams needed to head to the Southgate Mall to visit the high-tech retailer The Source to get their next clue and a step counter watch that could give them a prize if they took the least amount of steps in the leg.

7. Teams commenced this race in Toronto, Ontario. How many teams returned from earlier seasons?

From Quiz "The Amazing Race Canada 7" [1]

Answer: One & 1

While nine teams in this season were completely new couples looking to go on the race of a lifetime, viewers were also given the chance to vote in a Fan Favourite team, allowing them to return for a second chance at the prize. In the end, viewers voted for Jet and Dave (season 1) over Brent and Sean (season 3) and Frankie and Amy (season 4), and they joined the others. All ten teams commenced the race at David Pecaut Square in front of Toronto's Metro Hall, racing to their bags and opening their first clue to begin their incredible journey for $250,000 (CDN). And that first clue would send them to the Extreme Reach Recording Studio.

8. In the second Leg of the race, teams headed to Revelstoke, B.C. where one member of each had to ride a dirt bike course, finishing how many laps in an allotted time?

From Quiz Road Blocks of "The Amazing Race Canada 7"

Answer: One

There was only one lap, but the selected team member needed to complete the bumpy course in one minute and fifty seconds or less to be able to collect their next clue. This task, completed by Sam, Dave, Marie, James, Joanne, Trish, Aisha, Aarthy, and Sean, proved to be the type of task that needed more than one attempt as the course itself and the handling of the bulky vehicles proved to have a bit of a learning curve. When this task was completed, teams received their Detour task, sending them off to the forests of Revelstoke.

9. In Edmonton, Alberta in Leg 3, teams chose between the 'Elevate' task and what other option?

From Quiz Detours of "The Amazing Race Canada 7"

Answer: 'Celebrate'

In Edmonton, teams got to choose between 'Elevate' and 'Celebrate'. In 'Elevate', teams needed to complete two puzzles of the Edmonton skyline, each at the top and bottom of the 100 St. Funicular. The catch was that each puzzle would have some of the other's pieces, so they would need to transport them, one at a time, to complete each one properly. In 'Celebrate', teams instead went to the Royal Alberta Museum where they had to learn the lycis and dance steps to a traditional South African performance. When they properly performed the dance with the Kokopelli Youth Choir they could get their next clue.

10. In the first Road Block of the race (in Toronto, Ontario), team members needed to record vocal tracks for the trailer of which Disney live action film?

From Quiz "The Amazing Race Canada 7" [1]

Answer: The Lion King

Taking cabs to the Extreme Reach Recording Studio, teams arrived to find their first Road Block. For this, they had to step up to the microphone in the studio and record the voice parts for the trailer of the Disney live action "The Lion King" film. First, they had to rehearse the timing of a voice-over script. When ready, they needed to perfectly time their take as per the trailer. Irina, Jet, Sean, Aisha, Anthony, Sam, Joanne, Meaghan, Thinesh, and Trish. After completing this task, teams were told to take cabs to the Ontario Food Terminal, and there they would be able to find two halves of a postcard informing them of their next destination elsewhere in the country.

11. In Leg 3, teams encountered a new race mechanic for "The Amazing Race" as a whole that had a profound effect on the Detour in Alberta. How many teams fell victim to it?

From Quiz Detours of "The Amazing Race Canada 7"

Answer: Two

During the third leg of the race, teams opened their Detour clues on the Edmonton High Level Bridge Streetcar, right in front of "The Amazing Race's" first-ever Blind Double One-Way. This race mechanic functioned similar to the Double U-Turn, allowing one team to choose another and create a problem for another team. In this case, the selected team had to complete the side of the Detour decided for them by the earlier team. Because it was a Blind mechanic, the ones using it remained anonymous. Lauren and Joanne used the One-Way on Trish and Amy while Sarah and Sam used it on Gilles and Sean, forcing both teams to complete 'Celebrate' instead of 'Elevation'. Meaghan and marie were the only team to choose 'Celebrate' willingly.

12. Which applicable Detour option was completed by all of the teams in Ontario (in Leg 7)?

From Quiz "The Amazing Race Canada 7" [4]

Answer: 'Robot Quest'

Teams unhindered by the Speed Bump instead headed straight to the Detour, a choice between 'Beerfest' and 'Robot Quest'. In 'Beerfest', teams celebrated Oktoberfest at the Concordia Club by choosing a table of ten partygoers and taking their beer orders. While pouring the beers, teams would need to note that their customers would be getting up to dance and returning to the table in different seats. If they could deliver all ten beers to the correct people, they would get their clue. In 'Robot Quest', teams instead headed to the RoboHub at the University of Waterloo and split up. One team member watched a maze and fed instructions to their teammate via a walkie-talkie. The second teammate would control the robot remotely to successfully navigate the course to get the clue. All teams went to 'Robot Quest'.

13. How many teams utilized the Blind Double One-Way in Leg 3 (in Alberta)?

From Quiz "The Amazing Race Canada 7" [2]

Answer: Two

So with the Detour in mind, teams had the opportunity to use the Blind Double One-Way. A One-Way is a race mechanic that allows a team to force another team racing behind them to complete a specified side of the Detour with no opportunity to switch. In other words, if that team is known to not possess a certain skill, a team could force them to complete a relevant task to trip them up. In this leg of the race, teams faced a Double One-Way, indicating that two teams could fall victim, and it was Blind, indicating that the people using the mechanic could remain anonymous while using it. Lauren and Joanne used the One-Way on Trish and Amy while Sarah and Sam used it on Gilles and Sean. Both sent the teams to 'Celebrate'.

14. To which British Columbian city did teams fly in Leg 1?

From Quiz "The Amazing Race Canada 7" [1]

Answer: Kamloops

Finding the two halves of their postcards, teams were directed to make their way to Kamloops, British Columbia (via Vancouver) nearly four thousand kilometres away. To do this, they had to sign up for one of two flights at Pearson International Airport in Toronto, each of which would carry half the teams. The second flight would arrive thirty minutes after the first. Upon landing, they were told to hop into a 2019 Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 parked at the airport and in which they would be able to grab their next clue directing them to the Ajax Mine.

15. How many teams opted to use Express Passes to skip one of the two Road Blocks in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories (in Leg 4)?

From Quiz Road Blocks of "The Amazing Race Canada 7"

Answer: Two

Leg 4 was the second leg of the race to feature two Road Blocks which implied that whoever was not chosen for the first task had to complete the second. Anthony and James used their Express Pass at the end of the first Road Block allowing James to avoid completing a series of tasks involving Canadian-mined diamonds. Dave and Irina, already in the lead, skipped the second Road Block. This left only one Express Pass (belonging to Aarthy and Thinesh) in the game.

16. Teams completing the Road Block in Alberta in Leg 3 needed to engage with an art form originating in which nation?

From Quiz "The Amazing Race Canada 7" [2]

Answer: Japan

After the Detour, teams proceeded to Old Strathcona Antique Mall and were asked to search for Jon inside to find their next clue. Little did they know, Jon was actually just in bobblehead form. When this was done, teams received a clue sending them to their Road Block at the Ozawa Pavilion of the Kurimoto Japanese Garden in Spruce Grove, Alberta. There, teams had to choose one one person who was 'feeling icky', and for the task, they had to master the delicate art of Japanese flower arrangement known as Ikebana. Watching a silent arrangement, they had to mimic the process exactly. Irina, Thinesh, Anthony, Sarah, Lauren, Amy, Meghan, and Gilles completed this task.

17. In Leg 6 in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, most teams completed 'Walk in Circles', a Detour task set in a maze. What did they need to collect throughout the maze?

From Quiz Detours of "The Amazing Race Canada 7"

Answer: Corn

At the Champêtre County Vacation Ranch, five teams chose to complete the 'Walk in Circles' Detour option, sending them through a large, complex barnboard maze searching for four different ears of corn. If they could bring all four to the end of the maze they would receive their next clue. The other Detour option, 'Dance in a Square', was only completed by Trish and Amy who had to divide to conquer; one team member memorized a series of square dance steps that they had to recite back to the music while the other had to perform in the dance proper.

18. Which team was eliminated at the end of Leg 9 (in fifth place overall)?

From Quiz "The Amazing Race Canada 7" [5]

Answer: Aarthy and Thinesh

At the end of this double-length, non-stop leg, the final five teams had to drive out of Thunder Bay and out to Kakabeka Falls Provincial Park to find their ninth Pit Stop overlooking the 'Niagara of the North'. Dave and Irina led the majority of the leg and, by using their momentum, they were able to nab yet another win, this time claiming a trip for two to Venice, Italy. Although they led through Leg 8, Aarthy and Thinesh were last to leave Toronto and they were unable to regain ground in Thunder Bay. They were subsequently eliminated.

19. Which team was eliminated in Ontario at the end of Leg 7?

From Quiz "The Amazing Race Canada 7" [4]

Answer: Trish and Amy

Completing the last of their physics work in Waterloo, teams received a final clue sending them to the Knight-Newbrough Field on the campus of Wilfrid Laurier University. There, in the center of the field, they could step on the mat at the seventh Pit Stop of the race. Dave and Irina were the first to step on the mat, leading on their way out of the Face Off and staying in the lead to take their third victory of the race. This time the couple won a trip for two to Frankfurt, Germany. The last team to step on the mat in this leg ended up being Trish and Amy, who trailed for the entirety of the leg. This time, they were eliminated.

20. Which penalized team was eliminated at the end of Leg 5?

From Quiz "The Amazing Race Canada 7" [3]

Answer: Meaghan and Marie

At the end of Leg 5, teams raced to the city of Coombs to find the Goats on the Roof at the Old Country Market. Interestingly, because the majority of teams opted to take a two hour penalty to avoid completing the clam-digging task in Deep Bay, the first place position was up in the air. Because of the unique circumstances, while Trish and Amy were first to land on the mat, Sarah and Sam were the first team to check in, taking their first victory of the race. They won a trip for two to Machu Picchu, Peru. In the end of the leg, Meaghan and Marie took a penalty and also arrived on the mat in last place, sealing their fate and resulting in their elimination.

21. Which team was eliminated from the race at the end of Leg 3 in Alberta?

From Quiz "The Amazing Race Canada 7" [2]

Answer: Gilles and Sean

At the end of Leg 3, teams had to search the grounds of the University of Alberta's Botanic Gardens for the Aga Khan Garden where they would find Jon waiting at the next Pit Stop. Dave and Irina, who nabbed a seat on the early flight, stayed ahead throughout the leg to win their second of the race. This time, the couple won themselves a trip for two to Casablanca, Morocco. Ultimately, the team that won the $5,000 gift card prize for The Source was Lauren and Joanne. In the end, Gilles and Sean were the last to arrive at the Pit Stop, having been foiled by the Blind Double One-Way. They were eliminated from the race.

22. Which team was eliminated at the end of the race's first Leg?

From Quiz "The Amazing Race Canada 7" [1]

Answer: Jet and Dave

In the end of the leg, teams were given a clue directing them to the race's first Pit Stop at the Kamloops Bike Ranch. Dave and Irina were the first to land on the map and because of that, they won themselves two Express Passes-- one for themselves and another to hand to another team before the end of the race's third leg. They also ended up winning a trip for two to Cape Town, South Africa for their efforts. In the end, a lack of a map ended up sealing jet and Dave's fate. Following the second Road Block they went so far off-track that they ended up dropping to last and getting themselves eliminated from the race.

23. To which maritime province did teams fly in Leg 10?

From Quiz "The Amazing Race Canada 7" [5]

Answer: Nova Scotia

The first clue of the race's tenth leg told teams to fly to Nova Scotia to find their next destination: Wolfville. The flight took teams through Toronto to their next stop. Upon landing in Halifax, teams had to grab their Chevrolet Silverados and drive to the Annapolis Valley, following the clues in their vehicles' secret compartment to Tangled Gardens in Grand-Pré, a short trip east of Wolfville proper. It was there that teams found their Road Block task. This leg was the only maritime visit in this season of the race.

24. In Leg 8, teams travelled to which region in Québec?

From Quiz "The Amazing Race Canada 7" [4]

Answer: Charlevoix

Commencing Leg 8 of the race, teams needed to board a train that would take them from Kitchener-Waterloo, through Toronto, north to Montreal, further northeast to Québec City, and onward to the town of La Malbaie in Charlevoix, Québec. Upon arriving, the five competing teams needed to stop off at Chez Chantal near the train station and peel twenty-five potatoes before receiving their next clue and two servings of local Québec poutine.

25. Teams flew to what Saskatchewan city in Leg 6?

From Quiz "The Amazing Race Canada 7" [3]

Answer: Saskatoon

Leaving the east coast of Vancouver Island at the start of the sixth leg of the race, teams were sent to Saskatoon, Saskatchewan in the middle of the Prairies, flying from Nanaimo to Calgary, Alberta and then onward to Saskatoon. Upon landing, teams needed to search for Canada's brightest light at Canadian Light Source. There, at a machine that can shine a light brighter than the sun, teams could find their next clue box.

26. In the fourth leg of the race, teams flew to which city in the northern territories of Canada?

From Quiz "The Amazing Race Canada 7" [2]

Answer: Yellowknife

Teams left the Aga Khan Garden in Spruce Grove, Alberta early in the morning with a clue in hand telling them to head to the airport to fly to Yellowknife, the capital of the Northwest Territories. Upon arriving at the airport, teams had their first opportunity to book their own flights, having had them chartered for them in previous legs. Upon arriving at their destination more than fourteen hundred kilometers away, they had to make their way to the Somba K'e Civic Plaza where they could search for the United in Celebration Sculpture in weather below -20 degrees celsius.

27. In Leg 2, teams drove to the site of which Canadian historical monument?

From Quiz "The Amazing Race Canada 7" [1]

Answer: The Last Spike

Instead of leaving British Columbia, teams had to head along the Trans-Canada Highway towards the city of Revelstoke. They needed to follow the railway as they went, stopping off to find their first clue box of the leg in the town of Craigellachie at the monument to the Last Spike. Upon arriving at this spot where the Canadian Pacific Railway was joined to the rest of Canada, teams found their next Road Block clue.

28. Leg 8 saw a memorization Road Block in Quebec. Teams had to memorize a speech themed around which event?

From Quiz Road Blocks of "The Amazing Race Canada 7"

Answer: G7 Summit

Arriving in Charlevoix, Quebec in Leg 8, teams made their way to the Fairmont Le Manoir Richelieu for their first Road Block in three legs. For this one, the selected team member needed to dress formally and memorize a G7 speech in both English and French before presenting their lines to an audience of press members. When they finished their speeches, they also needed to answer questions from Italian, Japanese, and German press members in their native languages to get their next clue. James, Sam, Irina, Joanne, and Thinesh learned the lines for this task.

29. What was the catch behind the Detour task found in Quebec in Leg 8?

From Quiz Detours of "The Amazing Race Canada 7"

Answer: It was a Blind Detour

Teams reached the Charlevoix region of Quebec and took part in one of two local pastimes for their Detour task in Leg 8, but they didn't know what they were getting into until they arrived at their respective tasks. Teams chose blindly between 'This' and 'That', only finding out the finer details at their destinations. In 'This', teams visited an emu farm to paint emu eggs while in 'That', teams learned how to play the game of pick-lit. Teams could choose to back out of their respective tasks whenever they wanted to, but none of them did; Lauren and Joanne and Anthony and James completed 'This' while Aarthy and Thinesh, Dave and Irina, and Sarah and Sam completed 'That'.
