Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. "Marcia, Marcia, Marcia!" Who played the role of Jan on the TV show "The Brady Bunch", which aired from September 1969 until March 1974?

Answer: Eve Plumb

For many years, Eve Plumb distanced herself from the role of Jan Brady. She did not appear on the "Brady Bunch Hour" (which aired November 1976 to May 1977). She was the only member of the original cast who did not appear in that show. She subsequently became an artist, painting still life in the realist style.
2. This young man made kissing up an art form. Who could ever forget him saying, "My you look lovely today Mrs. Cleaver". Who played Eddie Haskell in "Leave it to Beaver", which aired from 1957 to 1963?

Answer: Ken Osmond

The character Eddie Haskell was Wally Cleaver's best friend. After Ken Osmond left Wally and the Beav behind, he became a Los Angeles police officer, working in the narcotics, vice and motorcycle divisions before retiring. It is said that Ken grew a mustache when he became a police officer so he would not be so recognizable as Eddie Haskell.
3. Not known for just one role, this man grew up and got married on our TVs. First he was Opie and then he was Richie. Who is this famous actor turned director?

Answer: Ron Howard

Ron Howard played Opie the sheriff's son on "The Andy Griffith Show" (1960 - 1968) starting when he was just six years old. When he was twenty he began performing the role of Richie Cunningham in "Happy Days" (1974 -1984). Although he rarely acts anymore we can all still enjoy his genius as a director of such notable films as "The Da Vinci Code" (2006), "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" (2000), "Apollo 13" (1995) and many others.
4. This actor will forever be known as "Batman" from the television series that aired from 1966 - 1968. Who played the caped crusader?

Answer: Adam West

The "Batman" TV series aired from January 1966 to March 1968. In 1994 Adam West released his autobiography "Back to the Batcave", and afterwards he played himself in the animated series "Family Guy" (1999).
5. What about our favorite castaway? Who played Gilligan on "Gilligan's Island" (September 1964 to September 1967)?

Answer: Bob Denver

Few people remember that before he was Gilligan, he was Maynard G. Krebs in "The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis" (aired September 1959 to September 1963). The role of Gilligan lasted only three seasons on TV but Bob Denver was often seen in public wearing the white sailor hat he wore on the show. Bob Denver passed away September 2, 2005 due to complications from throat cancer.
6. He was the captain of the Enterprise in the original "Star Trek" (1966 - 1969). Who played him?

Answer: William Shatner

William Shatner played the part of Captain Kirk in "Star Trek" (1966 - 1969). What most people seem to forget is that he played many diverse roles before and after "Star Trek". One fascinating tidbit I found was that he appeared on the "Howdy Doody Show" as "Ranger Bob" in 1954. In 1997, he started doing commercials for Priceline.com.
7. In "Star Wars" (1977) he was our favorite teenage hero. Who played the role of Luke Skywalker?

Answer: Mark Hamill

After "Star Wars" (1977), Mark continued to work in movies and television, and voice over work. His most known part is the Joker in the animated "Batman" series (1997 to 2009).
8. Bow tie, short pants, squeaky voice. Who else could this be other than Pee Wee Herman? Who played this "man-child"?

Answer: Paul Reubens

Paul Reubens has had his ups and downs since playing Pee Wee on TV as well as in movies. In 1991 it all came crashing down when he was arrested. Since then he has picked up roles in such diverse things as "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" (1992), "Nightmare Before Christmas" (1993), and "Dunston Checks In" (1996).
9. Thanks to the shower scene in "Psycho" (1960) many of us now take baths. Who played Norman Bates so deliciously?

Answer: Anthony Perkins

Before Norman Bates, Anthony Perkins had many roles as a romantic leading man. After Norman, the public wanted and expected him to have a knife in his hand; for the most part, Tony accepted this. He went on to make 3 sequels to the original "Psycho". He passed away September 12, 1992 due to complications of AIDS.

His widow was killed September 11, 2001. She was on board American Airlines flight 11 from Boston, which was crashed into the World Trade Center.
10. Bond, James Bond. This actor started his Bond career in "Live and Let Die" in 1973. Who is he?

Answer: Roger Moore

After the Bond films, America never really took to him in any other roles until he appeared in "Cannonball Run" (1981) alongside Burt Reynolds. Despite all this, Sir Roger Moore continued to appear on talk shows and was the narrator of documentaries.
