Karl THOUGHT the program was going to be called "Karl Pilkington's Seven Wonders". The show is all about Karl going to see the most amazing accomplishments of mankind, and of course totally missing the point.

Gervais and Merchant created the television shows "The Office" (2001-2004) and "Extras"(2005-2007). On the radio, they ask Karl about life. HBO has produced an animated version of their conversations in "The Ricky Gervais Show" (2010-2011).

Originally called "Chimpanzee That!" when it debuted in 2002, the segment was renamed "Monkey News". It involved Karl reading his version of "real" news events involving monkeys or apes. In it, he has described a spacecraft with a "left button" and a banana dispenser, a woman leaving her husband for a chimp, and a chimp hosting an interview program.

In a long, frustrating attempt to get Karl to understand the concept, Ricky and Steve had to try several different ways to ask the question. At some point in the Philosophy Audio-book, Steve screams "This is EXHAUSTING!".

Perhaps the greatest poem ever written, it was one of the few parts of Karl's diary that Ricky insisted needed to be read by the author himself.
