1. In this magic trick the subject is seen to be rising and then coming to rest at some height. What word that follows the word Asrah is the name for this trick?

Answer: Levitation

In the Asrah levitation the magician normally has his assistant lie on a table. He then covers her with a cloth and the assistant starts to float on air. The magician suddenly removes the cloth and the assistant disappears.
2. In this magic trick the magician makes his assistant vanish from a four-compartment box. What is the name of this trick that consists of two words the second being "Lady" and the first having to do with an American civilisation?

Answer: Aztec

In the Aztec Lady the assistant steps into a wardrobe type box which opens at the front. The box is closed and the magician, with the help of a member of the public, inserts various panels into slots that separate the box in four sections. He then pushes the top sections of the box to the two sides and proceeds to insert more panels and finally swords to demonstrate that nothing could survive.

The box is then put together again and the front is open to reveal the assistant alive and well.
3. In this trick the magician appears to catch something with his teeth. What is the name of this trick?

Answer: Bullet Catch

In this trick the bullet is fired from a gun that is operated by another person. The gun is fired through a glass pane which shatters as the bullet goes through it and the magician appears to be hit. He staggers back and drops to his knees. He slowly stands up and spits the bullet is the palm of his hand. For greater effect the bullet is marked.
4. In this trick the magician appears to be able to link and then separate solid rings. After which East Asian country is this trick named?

Answer: Chinese linking rings

The magician once again employs the help of a member of the audience. This person examines the rings and verifies that are solid. The magician then links the rings effortlessly, plays around with them and then separates the rings with ease.

Answer: Cylinder

The magician shows two empty cylinders a glass and a bottle. The glass and the bottle are placed on a table and the magician places the cylinders on top of the glass and the bottle. He then raises the cylinders and the two objects appear to have swapped places.

Answer: Match

The magician picks a card from a pack and then places a match on top of it. With a wave of his hand the match appears to float on top of the card. To prove that the match is floating, he places another card underneath the match.

The magician holds in his hand a piece of rope. He folds the rope and cuts it using a pair of scissors. He then joins the two pieces by making a knot. He stretches the rope and presents the rope in its initial state.

The magician places a tissue over his thumb and then proceeds to stick needles into it. The needles appear to go completely through the thumb. He then starts removing the needles one by one removes the tissue and displays his thumb completely unharmed.

Answer: French Drop

The magician holds a coin between the thumb and the forefinger of one hand. He passes his other hand over the coin which vanishes. He passes his hand again over the other one and the coin appears in his palm.

Answer: Dove Pan

The magician displays an empty pan with the lid lying next to it. He places bits of paper in the pan, and for greater effect sometimes the paper is set on fire, covers the pan with the lid and when the lid is lifted again, the pan is full of scarves.
