Gold won 12 million dollar for his efforts. It took him 8 days to overcome all his opponents. Wasicka came just short but was still rewarded an impressive 6 million dollars for second place. Cunningham finished 4th and was the only poker "pro" at the final table. Friberg finished 8th and was the second to leave the final table. Friberg was the highest ranking European player, he hails from Sweden.
2. Phil Hellmuth Jr. finally won his 10th "WSOP bracelet" during the "2006 WSOP".

Phil Hellmuth won the "WSOP Main Event" in 1989. As of 2006, Phil has won 10 bracelets, just as fellow Poker legends Doyle Brunson and Johnny Chan.
