1. In the opening scene, several teenagers are in a cafe playing video games. One of them had a dog with him. What was the dog's name?

Answer: Homer

Homer was a golden retriever that belonged to Jake, the episode's narrator. When walking home from the internet cafe, Homer ran off, which caused the group to go looking for him.

2. Which would-be "Animorph" was not already a member of the social group the rest of the kids were in?

Answer: Tobias

Tobias was a loner. He was orphaned and lived with his aunt. He was new to school and hadn't made many friends yet. That all changed the night they ran into an alien.

3. What was the name of the alien who gave the teens the power to change into animals?

Answer: Elfangor

Elfangor was one of the most important soldiers in the intergalactic battle against evil parasitic creatures.

His ship was damaged in a battle and he crash-landed on Earth. A group of teenagers found him and he passed along the ability to morph to them so that they could carry on the fight.

4. What planet was the alien who gave the group their abilities from?

Answer: Andalite

The species and their home planet share a name. The aliens are covered in blue fur, and have the body of a horse with the torso of a human. They have no nose, instead just slots on their face and a second set of eyes attached to antennas on their heads.

Answer: Yeerks

The Yeerks are small slug-like creatures. They crawl into the ear canal of other species and take control of the host body. Because of that, it is very hard to tell who is a Yeerk "controller" and who is not.

6. Where was the secret base for the alien invaders hidden?

Answer: Under the local high school.

The Yeerks have to swim in a pool of nutrients every three days for sustenance. Because of that, there is a giant cavern hidden underneath the local high school, and several other spots in town. The cavern is miles wide.

7. There are limits to how long the teens can stay in their morphed state. Who got stuck as an animal because he stayed morphed too long?

Answer: Tobias

When the five teens decided to invade the Yeerk pool, only four got out within the time limit.

Elfangor had warned them not to stay morphed for more than 2 hours, unfortunately for Tobias, he was stuck as a Red-Tailed Hawk as he couldn't find a place to morph back to human in time.

8. Changing into an animal is the easy part for the teens. Finding clothes after the morph back is the hard part.

In the book series, the teens can only morph with a skin tight leotard, but in the TV series whatever they happen to be wearing when they morph is what they are wearing when they morph back into human form.

Seeing the clothes morph with the kids made sure that each morph was unique even if they were changing into the same animal.

9. How did the teens manage to change into animals?

Answer: They had to "acquire" the DNA of an animal.

The teens have to make physical contact with the animal at least once. This is typically shown as them laying a hand on the animal and concentrating. The animal goes into a trance-like state and then whoever acquired the DNA could change into the animal whenever they wanted.

10. Who was the first of the group shown to have morphed?

Answer: Jake

Jake changed into his dog Homer just a few minutes after Elfangor gave them the ability.

He didn't exactly know what he was doing, but he was forced into making the change when the Yeerk controllers were closing in on him. He changed into the dog and ran through a construction site to escape.

The next day Cassie started experimenting and eventually the entire group learned how to use their morphing ability.
