1. Who is getting married in Scroll I?

Answer: Flavia Gemina

It is unclear here who the bridegroom is, but Flavia is in the middle of her preparations for her wedding. Polla and Nubia are both there to help her.

2. Who is Emperor of Rome at the beginning of Scroll II?

Answer: Titus

Titus is still alive at this point, so he still holds the title.

In Latin, Jonathan writes "Cave Remum", which is supposed to make Titus cautious of his brother, Domitian, who Jonathan thinks is trying to murder his brother to gain power.

Aristo brings the information that some guards said that these were Titus' last words. None of the group of mystery-solvers can fathom what this means.

Floppy leaves with Flavia for Ephesus, but because his sister wants to inherit his possessions in Italy, he pretends to die. When in Asia Minor, the new name ensures that he won't be reported as actually being alive.

Upon finding out that both Nubia and Aristo happen to love each other, and after making Aristo take part in a semi-gladiatorial fight, Domitian makes the couple marry. They marry in the arena and are then set free along with the others taken captive by Domitian.

Answer: Domitian

Domitian grew up away from the palace. The fact that both Flaccus and Domitian were neighbours on Pomegranate Street leads to Flaccus being made a "glorified civil servant".

Answer: No

At the end, Flavia says Jonathan is still looking for Popo and followed a lead to Spain but it proved unfruitful.
