Conrad Veidt impersonated Major Heinrich Strasser, the SS major trying to track down Victor Laszlo. And finally there was the police inspector Louis Renault (role by Claude Rains), the local underworld captain Signor Ferrari (played by Sydney Greenstreet) and the pickpocket Signor Ugarte (role by Peter Lorre).
