1. Which of these instruments is used to detect earthquakes?

Answer: seismograph

A seismograph, or a seismometer, is used to "detect" earthquakes. The Richter Scale is used to measure the strength of the earthquake and the Mercalli Scale grades the damage caused by the earthquake from 1 to 12. An ammeter is used for measuring electric currents. An electrocardiograph records the electrical voltage in the heart, and an avometer is a multimeter, which combines three instruments, including an ammeter, voltmeter and an ohmmeter in one.

It is used to measure electricity.
2. What do you call lines drawn on a map to connect places of equal rainfall?

Answer: isohyets

"Contours" are lines drawn on a map to connect places of equal height above sea level, "isotherms" are lines drawn on a map to connect places having equal temperature and "isobars" are lines drawn on a map to connect places of equal pressure.
3. Which is the planet with the most rings?

Answer: Saturn

Saturn has 12 rings, Uranus has 11 rings, Neptune ranks third with 4 rings and Jupiter ranks last with 1 ring!
