The full title of the Minister is "The Cathedral and Metropolitical Church of St Peter in York".

The windows share more than two million individual pieces of glass.

Answer: George Hudson

He was born in Howsham, 12 miles north east of York, and was nicknamed "The Railway King".

There is a road, close to York railway station, named in his honour.

The Yorkshire Agricultural Society was formed in 1837 and held its first show in Barrack Yard, Fulford in 1838.

There are no records to confirm how many people attended the first show, but police, using batons, had to restore order due to the number of visitors who were trying to gain entry without paying.

The show was intended to be a peripatetic event and so visited different locations in Yorkshire each year.

It moved to its permanent home, at The Great Yorkshire Showground in Harrogate in 1951.
10. The National Railway Museum opened in York, in 1975. Which member of the royal family performed the opening ceremony?

Answer: Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh

The railway museums in York and Clapham closed and the National Railway Museum (which is built on the site of the city's former steam engine depot) opened in 1975.

The opening coincided with the 150th Anniversary of the opening of the Stockton to Darlington Railway Line.
