Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. My username is 'mrsoliverwood', but in what series of books/films was Oliver Wood a character?

Answer: Harry Potter

Oliver Wood is the Quidditch captain and goalkeeper for Gryffindor. Harry Potter meets him in 'Philosopher's Stone' when Professor McGonagall discovers his abilities to fly and catch small objects.

When I first signed up to FunTrivia, I was slightly obsessed with the actor who played Oliver Wood, Sean Biggerstaff. Another fact about me that I've craftily sneaked into the question is that all the answers are favourite book/film series of mine!
2. I come from a town in England, which has a famous football team nicknamed 'The Hornets'. It is also the birthplace of Geri Halliwell, Vinnie Jones and Gareth Southgate. Can you name the town?

Answer: Watford

Watford FC is the name of the football club; they play their games at Vicarage Road Stadium. Vinnie Jones used to play football with my uncle when they were kids. Who knew the dizzying heights he'd reach?

As for me: I was born in Watford and have lived there ever since!
3. I share my August birthday with which famous 'King of Pop'?

Answer: Michael Jackson

Michael Jackson and I were both born on 29th of August, with a few years difference in between! Other celebrities born on the 29th of August include Lea Michele from 'Glee', actor Richard Attenborough and Hollywood icon Ingrid Bergman. As for the incorrect choices: Cliff Richards was born in October, George Michael in June, and R. Kelly in January.
4. Gerard Butler's character in the film 'Rocknrolla' has a name which tells you how many siblings I have (in a roundabout way!). What was his character's name?

Answer: One-Two

I have one brother and two sisters; I am the second oldest. Another craftily inserted fact about me: I am a big Gerard Butler fan and 'Rocknrolla' is one of my favourite films that he stars in. The movie was released in 2008.
5. My eldest niece is named after which 'Star Wars' princess, portrayed by Carrie Fisher?

Answer: Leia

In the 'Star Wars' series, Princess Leia was the twin of Luke Skywalker. Their parents were Padme and Anakin (also known as Darth Vader). Leia and Luke were separated at birth when their mother died, and it was decided that it would be better if their father never found out that they had been born. Leia was adopted by Senator Organa and his wife. Actress Carrie Fisher played Princess Leia in the original trilogy.
6. My first crush was the lead singer of Take That. He appeared as an 'X Factor' judge from 2011-2013. Who is he?

Answer: Gary Barlow

I've never been able to shake off the charm of the delightful Mr Barlow! The group Take That had their first single in 1991 with 'Do What U Like'. After eight UK Singles Number Ones, they announced their split. Luckily for us all, they reunited (without Robbie Williams) in 2006 and had a further three UK Number Ones before Robbie temporarily rejoined the band in 2010.
7. Kate Winslet is my favourite actress. For which film did she receive her first Best Actress Oscar?

Answer: The Reader

After two nominations for Best Supporting Actress and three for Best Actress, Kate was finally awarded the Oscar in 2009 for her portrayal of an illiterate woman who was a prison guard for the Nazis in World War II. The film 'The Reader' was released in 2008.
8. My first job was for a well-known fast food restaurant. For what company, with the famous golden arches, did I work?

Answer: McDonald's

I only lasted a month!

McDonald's was started in 1940 by two brothers, Richard and Maurice McDonald. They opened their first restaurant in California, USA.
9. I am mad about Disney films and music. I drive my family crazy with it! What 1994 Disney film, based partly on Shakespeare's 'Hamlet', is my favourite of all?

Answer: The Lion King

'The Lion King' is a great family animated film. It was released on June 15, 1994. My favourite song from the movie is 'I Just Can't Wait to Be King'. Don't get caught singing it while in traffic, though, like I did!
10. When I was a kid, my favourite TV show was about four cartoon animals named after artists. What was the name of the TV series?

Answer: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

The cartoon was also known as 'Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles'. The show began in 1987. The main characters were named Leonardo, Michelangelo, Donatello, and Raphael. My favourite was Donatello, because he had a purple mask (which was my favourite colour). I still have a Michelangelo stocking which comes out every Christmas!
