This was easily six decades before James Watt considered the notion of steam power. Newcomen was also not the first to create this notion. The ancient Alexandrian scientist Heron came up with a simple steam engine in the first century A.D.

Answer: manufactory

The Latin source of this word is 'manu factum', meaning 'made by hand'. It translated into the Italian 'manifattura', and came to English via French.

Answer: It is good

He uttered 'Es ist gut', which is German for 'It is good'. I suppose he felt that he had completed his life's work at the time.
