Answer: Milan

Milan (Milano) is the second largest city in Italy. It has about 1,200,000 inhabitants as a municipality and about 3,000,000 as urban area. It contends with Paris for the title of Fashion Capital of the World. Brescia is the second largest city in Lombardy (about 200,000 inhabitants). Turin is the capital of Piedmont and Venice is the capital of Veneto.
2. Lombardy is mostly lowlands, but there are many mountains on the northern side. What is the highest?

Answer: Bernina

Bernina is half Italian and half Swiss. It is 4,050 meters high. Grigna and Resegone are Lombardian mountains too, but they are lower. Monte Rosa is higher (4,634 mts.), but it is in the Piedmont.

Answer: Lago di Como

Lago di Garda is the largest lake, but it is shared between Lombardy, Veneto and Trentino. Lago Maggiore is shared between Lombardy, Piedmont and Switzerland. Lago d'Iseo is smaller than Lago di Como.
