Daniel Shays started a rebellion stopped by the army after the Revolution. John Smith was at the Jamestown colony, and William Penn founded the Quaker establishment in the colony of Pennsylvania, named after you-know-who.

Initiated by Slater's mill, the Industrial Revolution swept the nation, much as it had swept the Old World not long before.It inspired Americans into new, more inventive ways of doing things.
