1. What decade was the Heimlich maneuver developed?

Answer: 70s

Dr. Henry Heimlich first explained the procedure for expelling food and other foriegn items from the trachea in 1974. Dr Heimlich is the President of the Heimlich Institute in Cincinnati, Ohio.
2. The first countertop microwave oven was introduced in this decade.

Answer: 60s

Amana introduced the "Radarange" in Chicago, Illinois in 1967. It was to change for ever the way America cooks. They also introduced push-button settings on microwaves (1975) and had also been the first to receive a patent for self defrosting refrigerators (1954).
3. Construction of the Sears Tower and the World Trade Center is completed.

Answer: 70s

The World Trade Center was completed in 1973, making this the tallest building until the Sears Tower was competed the following year, 1974. In 1993, 6 people were killed when terrorist planted a bomb in a parking garage of the World Trade Center and in 2001, it was destroyed by terrorists in the 9-11 attack.

David Berkowitz, a postal worker, referred to himself as the 'Son of Sam' in a letter he wrote to police in which he described the abuse he had received from his father, Sam. He received 6-25 year sentences.

Answer: 80s

The Titanic sank on her maiden voyage in April, 1912. On September 1, 1985, the wreckage of the Titanic was found in 2 upright pieces on the ocean floor about 13,000 feet underwater.

Answer: 70s

This happened on May 4, 1970. This incident was responsible for killing four students and injuring nine and sparked off nationwide student protests all over the country.

Answer: Timothy McVeigh

The bombing took place on April 19, 1995. McVeigh was given the death penalty for killing 168 people and was executed by lethal injection.
