Great use of intercepted Magic transmissions led the US Navy to deal a crippling blow to the Japanese turning the tide of the war. During the battle which lasted from June 4th-7th 1942 the Japanese lost the carriers Akagi, Kaga, Hiryu, and Soryu. The Americans lost one carrier - the USS Yorktown.
