Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What is the name of the world Iron Kingdoms is set in?

Answer: Caen

Caen is the physical world of the Iron Kingdoms. Urcaen is where the freed souls of those who died go to be used by their gods.
2. Now for the deities. Who is known as the Creator of Man?

Answer: Menoth

Menoth created man to help in his battle against the Devourer Wurm. He gave man civilization and a code of laws asking only that they worship him and to fight those who would seek to destroy them. The Twins Morrow and Thamar were born as mortals but both had a gift that led them to become a God/dess. Morrow became the god of goodness and freedom, while Thamar became known as the Dark Goddess.
3. There is also a hidden God/dess of the Iron Kingdoms. Who is it?

Answer: Cyriss

Cyriss, also called the Maiden of Gear and Clockwork Goddess among other names, is an enigmatic goddess who has used her powers to influence intellects and crafters to further the levels of science and mechanika for a hidden purpose. Roth and Khorva are Scions of Thamar and Rowan is an ascendant of Morrow.
4. The Elves of Ios worship a pantheon of gods and goddesses. What is the name given to this group?

Answer: Divine Court

The Great Fathers is the name given to the pantheon of the Dwarves. The Ascendants is the group of mortals who preformed great deeds in the name of Morrow and such ascended to become a patron saint. The Scions are Thamar's version of the Ascendants.
5. On the western coast of Immoren lies an island empire ruled by a cruel master whose power rivals that of the ancient gods. What is its name?

Answer: Toruk

Dragons in the Iron Kingdom are one of the most feared forces on the face of Caen. They are near immortal with the only way for a dragon to die is for its heartstone or Athanc to be consumed by another dragon. Toruk is the first dragon who as an experiment on his power divided his Athanc. This caused many other dragons to appear and rather than swear service to their father they fought free and scattered. Toruk to this day hunts down his wayward progeny to consume them.
Everblight, Blighterghast and Shazkz are names given to three of the dragons spawned by Toruk.
6. The Elves were once a proud and mighty nation who enjoyed the power and favour of their pantheon but a great tragedy occurred which caused that empire to be destroyed and the survivors to flee elsewhere. The Gods and Goddesses were now cut off from their realm of power. They attempted to return to the Veld. Centuries after they had left clerics of the pantheon went mad, and after a time only two of the deities returned. Who are they?

Answer: Nyssor and Scyrah

The clerics of Scyrah were the only ones who didn't go insane with the loss of their goddess because she survived and having seen almost all her fellow gods and goddesses disappear has left a mark on her, for now she must do the duty of the entire pantheon when there were once eight to share the burden. Nyssor survived but did not return to take his place within Ios.

Instead he led his followers to the northwest to set in the deep mountains. These elves named themselves the Nyss after their god.
7. The age known as the Thousand Cities Era ended in a flood of blood, tears and dark magic. Who was it that came to leave such a bloody and fearful footprint that even to this day their name is spoken with fear?

Answer: Orgoth

The Orgoth came and for over six centuries conquered and ruled by terror and bloodshed. Only a few pockets of resistance remained and rebellion after rebellion was crushed. The Nightmare Empire of Cryx, ruled by Toruk, were the only nation to never be beaten by the dread invaders. Lyoss was destroyed centuries before the Orgoth came to the shores of Immoren.

The Skorne lived in the east and only warred with each other.
8. In year 594 AR a bloody coup ended the reign of a tyrant. This coup was led by his brother who now sits on the throne of Cygnar. What is the name of the deposed king?

Answer: Vinter IV 'the Elder' Raelthorne

Vinter IV and Leto are the twin sons of Vinter III. Ayn Vanar XI is the current Empress of Khador and latest in the Vanar dynasty.
9. In 482 AR a great priest arose to lead the faithful in a crusade that saw the creation of a great power. What is the name of this priest?

Answer: Hierarch Sulon

Sulon led the crusade that swept Caspia in a storm of righteous fury and flame. He died within sight of the Morrowan Sancteum. This ended the crusade but led to the founding of the Protectorate of Menoth which to this day still stands as the great theocracy in the name of Menoth. Hierarch Voyle is the current leader of the Protectorate with Grand Exemplar Kreoss leader of the Knights Exemplar. Hierarch Turgis was the third leader of the Protectorate.
10. In opening days of 603 AR a mighty host of Skorne led by Vinter IV Raelthorne laid siege to the city of Corvis. Who was one of the key people in the breaking of this siege?

Answer: Alexia Ciannor
