Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. The lady from Glasgow tried on a Scotch bonnet for the winter months. The holes made it a little what?

Answer: Chilli

Chillis are very hot to eat, especially the Scotch bonnet variety. However, buying a bonnet with holes to wear during the winter months will surely make you feel chilli...I mean chilly. Cayenne we get more peppery puns as they certainly spice up our lives!
2. I enjoy reading suspense novels about tornadoes They always come with what at the end?

Answer: A twist

And so there I was one afternoon, reading outside with my friends and waiting for the twist at the end of what was a very good story. A tornado came out of nowhere. We quickly ran inside and played a game of Twister instead. The game was so amazing it fairly blew us away!
3. A loud clap of thunder woke me up during the night. Electrical storms can be very what?

Answer: Striking

The clap of thunder was so striking that it shocked me out of bed. Luckily I was wearing my new thunderwear at the time! I made myself a hot cuppa to calm down my nerves as I am sure it was all a storm in a teacup.
4. An article was released by the press about the recent floods. What type of story was it?

Answer: Leaked

Yes, the meteorological officer who tried to rein in the seriousness about the weather was wet behind the ears. Their office is now being flooded with telephone calls! I hope they catch the person who leaked the story to the press but I drought it.
5. The sunshine started burning away the early morning fog. It certainly won't be what?

Answer: Missed

I stayed up all night to see where the sun went and then it dawned on me. Early morning fog and mist is never missed when the sun comes out. It is a beautiful day but I haven't got the foggiest idea what I am having for lunch. I may try some thick pea soup.
6. Santa said it was lightly snowing but his wife was adamant it was what instead?

Answer: Reindeer

It made Rudolf laugh every time that Santa asked his wife for the weather forecast. She always replied, "Rain, dear!". Their marriage was already on thin ice so snow more snow puns please, even if they are rather cool!
7. A man fell asleep in the full sun and got burnt. His ex-wife found this very what?

Answer: Appealing

The woman found it very appealing when her ex-husband's nose started to peel because he got sun burnt. She had turned the heat on him for years to pay off the debt on their tanning sunbed, but he always went hot and cold, preferring to sunbathe outside instead. He was a mathematician after all, and spending so much time on the beach turned him into a tanned gent.
8. Winter is now over! How did the tree feel when spring arrived?

Answer: Relieved

New growth in the spring always turns the trees green. It was certainly a cold winter and the trees were relieved when they re-leaved. They could turn over a new leaf and start afresh, spruce themselves up and branch out. I am a sap for tree puns!
9. It was raining chickens and ducks outside. What type of weather are we having?

Answer: Foul

It was raining cats and dogs last week and I stepped in a poodle. This week, the weather turned really foul, with people egging me on for fowl puns. Did you hear about the chicken who lost his home during the storm? I hope is was able to recoup. The yolk was on him because he was able to wing it through the storm, just like poultry in motion. I took a gander at his new home and it was im-peck-able!
10. An orchestra was playing outside in the thunderstorm. Who got hit by the lightning?

Answer: The conductor

The new orchestra was taking the world by storm so I bought tickets to watch them. I wondered what all the ruckus was about, then it came to me like a bolt out of the blue! I know it shocked a lot of people when the conductor got hit by a lightning conductor, but at least they knew how to conduct themselves properly afterwards.
