Eddard's father was named Rickard and his mother Lyarra.
Rickard Stark was born after the year 230 after Aegon's Conquest. Although Rickard is thought to be an only child, it is possible that the baby named Brandon Stark for whom Old Nan was hired as a wet nurse be Rickard's brother. Rickard died in King's Landing in the year 283 AC under orders of the Mad King, Aerys II Targaryen.

Answer: Warden of the East

It was at the court of Jon Arryn where Eddard met his friend, Robert Baratheon. Arryn become a second father to both o the young men. Arryn was the chief organizer of Robert's Rebellion which overthrew the Mad King and established a Baratheon regime in the Seven Kingdoms. When Robert became King, Arryn was elevated to the position of Hand.

The Battle of the Trident was fought in 283 AC. The rebel army was commanded by Robert himself and the royalist army by Rhaegar Targaryen. Eddard Stark was present at the battle and took command of the army, after Robert was wounded while fighting Rhaegar, whom he managed to kill with a powerful blow of his warhammer. Rhaegar's death shattered the Targaryen loyalists, who fled for King's Landing, with Eddard in hot pursuit.

However, before Eddard arrived in King's Landing, the city had been sacked by Tywin Lannister, Warden of the West, who was initially neutral, but decided to join the rebels when it became clear that Robert would be the winner.

While Robert approved of the atrocities committed by the Lannister troops, Eddard was appalled by the murder of Rhaegar's children.

This created a rift between the two men, which Jon Arryn was unable to breach.

Answer: Barristan Selmy

Barristan Selmy had fought at the Trident for the royalists and had been severely wounded. While Lord Roose Bolton had suggested to Robert to kill Selmy, Robert had his own maester tend to Selmy's wounds. The other three were at the Tower of Joy. Eddard Stark rode there with five companions in order to free his captive sister. Eddard and his men slew the three knights, but they were also killed, apart from Eddard himself and Howland Reed. Upon entering the tower, Eddard found Lyanna dying. Before dying, she made him promise something to her.

The subject of the promise is unknown, but it continued to haunt Eddard for the rest of his life.

Answer: Wylla

Upon haering that, Robert said that Wylla must have been an impressive woman, making the honorable Eddard Stark break his marriage vows.
What we know about Wylla is that she was a wet nurse in Starfall, the family seat of House Dayne. In "A Storm of Swords", Edric Dayne tells Arya Stark that he and Jon Snow were "milk-brothers". While Arya initially thnks Edric is lying to her, he swaers that he is telling the truth about Wylla being Jon's mother. Arya then decides to memorize the name, so that she can tell Jon when they meet again.

Answer: Bran

It was seven-years-old Bran Stark who had the accident. It happened while he was climbing one of the towers of Winterfell. During his climbing expedition, Bran accidentally saw Queen Cersei fornicating with her own brother, Jaime Lannister. Bran is shocked when he is caught by them and trips, but Jaime catches him. Subsequently, Jaime remarks "The things I do for love" and pushes the poor boy from the window, intending to kill him in order to keep his incestuous affair a secret.

Answer: House Lannister

House Lannister was the most powerful of the Houses in the western parts of Westeros. At the time of the events concerning this quiz, the House is headed by Tywin Lannister. Tywin's daughter, Cersei, had married King Robert Baratheon after the Rebellion.

Her twin brother, Jaime, is in Robert's Kingsguard. Her other borther, Tyrion, was born a dwarf and he is dubbed "The Imp". Initially, Eddard did not pay much heed to Lysa's message, however after realizing that Arryn was poisoned and after learning that a footpad armed with Tyrion Lannister's dagger tried to assassinate the comatose Bran, he is certain that the Lannisters are plotting against the realm.

Answer: Janos Slynt

Slynt was the son of a butcher in King's Landing. He somehow managed to become commander of the City Watch of King's Landing and was known to be very corrupt. Slynt's assistance was the only way Eddard could depose Cersei and her son, Joffrey, from the Iron Throne after Robert's death.

He trusted Littlefinger to bring them to his fold. However, when Eddard and his men went to the throne room to face Cersei, it was revealed that, due to Littlefinger's treachery, Slynt actually worked for her. Slynt's men slaughtered Eddard's guards and he was taken to the black cells.

Answer: Eddard's own greatsword

The name of Eddard's greatsword was Ice. It was the ancestral weapon of House Stark and made from Valyrian steel. Eddard had used it in order to execute prisoners condemned to death. After his arrest, it was given to Ilyn Payne who used it to behead Eddard. So ended the life of Eddard Stark, Lord of Winterfell and Warden of the North.
