Thomas Covenant once had the world at his feet. A successful writer, happily married with a young son, his world falls apart when he contracts leprosy. His wife and son leave him and he is shunned by the community he lives in.
2. When Covenant first arrives in the Land he is befriended by the folk of which village?

Answer: Mithil Stonedown

The people of the Land live in harmony with the world around them. Covenant is found by Lena and introduced to the wonders of Hurtloam and Aliantha. After meeting her family, things begin to go wrong when Covenant loses control and commits a terrible crime. Despite this, Lena's mother agrees to lead Covenant to Revelstone to deliver his message to the Lords.
3. To what tribe do the Bloodguard belong?

Answer: Haruchai

Originally a warlike race from the Westron Mountains, the Haruchai are so impressed by the Lords of the Land that they swear an oath to protect them. The chosen protectors become the Bloodguard; they show no emotion, require no sleep and are masters of unarmed combat. Covenant is given the title of ur-Lord and he is given Bannor as his protector.
4. What message does Lord Foul give Covenant to tell the Lords?

Answer: That Drool Rockworm has the Staff of Law

Foul speaks to Covenant as he is transported to the Land. "Say to the Council of Lords, and to High Lord Prothall son of Dwillian, that the uttermost limit of their span of days upon the Land is seven times seven years from this present time. Before the end of those days are numbered, I will have the command of life and death in my hand. And as a token that what I say is the one word of truth, tell them this: Drool Rockworm, Cavewight of Mount Thunder, has found the Staff of Law ..."

High Lord Prothall is son of Dwillian. Though lacking the artifacts and knowledge of the lords of old, Prothall leads a successful mission to retrieve the Staff of Law.

When the moon is dark on the middle night of spring the Wraiths of the Andelain come forth and perform the Celebration of Spring. Covenant and Atiaran witness this dance before Ur-Viles attack.
8. What is the name given to the most powerful of the Ur-Viles in a wedge?

Answer: Loremaster

The eyeless Ur-Viles wield great magical powers. In battle they form into wedges enabling the individual Ur-Viles to direct their power through the Loremaster.
9. Which of the old High Lords was the last and most powerful?

Answer: Kevin

Berek was known as Halfhand and was first of the lords; his son Damelon was known as Giantfriend. Damelon's son was Loric Vilesilencer and his son was Kevin. Kevin succumbed to despair when fighting Lord Foul and became known as Landwaster when he performed the Ritual of Desecration.
10. Which are Lord Foul's most powerful servants?

Answer: Ravers

The three Ravers, Moksha, Samadhi and Turiya are the ancient enemies of the Land's forests. For many years they remained trapped with the great stone Colossus, but as the forests became fewer in number the power of the Colossus weakened and the Ravers escaped. They have the power to possess other creatures.
