5. The autobiography of Australian singer and songwriter Paul Kelly has a very unusual title. Which of the following is it?

Answer: How to Make Gravy

Subtitled "A Mongrel Memoir", the title of Kelly's autobiography is taken from his song of the same name. The song is written as a letter from a brother in jail close to Christmas.
"I guess the brothers are driving down from Queensland and Stella's
flying in from the coast
They say it's gonna be a hundred degrees, even more maybe, but that
won't stop the roast

Who's gonna make the gravy now?
I bet it won't taste the same

Just add flour, salt, a little red wine and don't forget a dollop of
tomato sauce for sweetness and that extra tang"

In the song, he expresses regret that he cannot be home to celebrate with his family.

6. There have been many biographies of this musician, often filled with speculation and guesswork. So, the musician decided to write an autobiography, explain some things and let us see behind the scenes. It is entitled "Chronicles Volume One." Who is this musician?

Answer: Bob Dylan

Published in 2004, "Chronicles" is Dylan's attempt to set the record straight on a number of issues and convince us that he is just another guy with a guitar and harmonica. That's not going to happen. Inside the mythos is someone who had a profound effect on music in the 1960s. And despite the facts and revelations, as in anything written by Bob Dylan, the reader is sometimes left sitting there thinking "What?"

9. Rock legends are usually young when fame and fortune hit them. They do wild things like 'have it off' with their bass player's wife! Older, wiser and now a Knight of the Realm all (?) is revealed in this autobiography called 'My Life, My Way'. And the writer is?

Answer: Sir Cliff Richard

It was Sir Cliff who admits to sleeping with Carol Ann Harris, (nee Costa) who had separated from Jet Harris at the time of this brief affair. Jet of course was the first Shadows bass player. What doesn't come out in 'My Life, My Way' is that, according to Vicky Marshall, (in whose house the affair blossomed), Carol had an abortion in late 1960. (Information from the 1993 Steve Turner book 'Cliff Richard The Biography').

My early romantic attachments were to men till I entered my thirties and discovered women. I wrote the first part of my autobiography, "Owning Up," in 1965. I died in London in 2007.

Answer: George Melly

The other three men were all singers born in Liverpool in the 1930s and 1940s.

Rory Storm's group was called Rory Storm and The Hurricanes, and had a drummer known as Ringo Starr. Billy Fury had dozens of hits, but "Wondrous Place" was perhaps his most famous. Russ Hamilton was another Liverpudlian who must have been a scout for the British Invasion, as he had top ten hits in America, as well as at home, as early as 1957.
